COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after our native Florida Sea Cow, the Manatee, who resides in the murky brackish waters of Florida, this beer is dark, flavorful and roasty. This beer is smooth, with a velvety mouthfeel, but at the same time the roasted malt gives you that rich FAT flavor you want from a stout.

Draft at the brewery in Delray Beach, FL. Also took a growler home. Pours a jet black with an off-white two finger head in my snifter. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, caramel, cereal grains, and lactose. Taste is similar with a well balanced roasted malts to lactose too hops profile. Nothing too exciting, but a solid milk stout. Full body, some carbonation. Finishes strong like a malt shake. Creamy mouth feel.

Poured a dark brown almost black color with aromas of light lactose, coffee, some earth and a touch of roast. Flavors were milk chocolate and some earth. A solid milk stout but wanted more out if this beer.

On draft at the Florida Brewers’ Guild Fest 2014. Pours a medium stout brown with an off-tan head. Nose is lactose, oreo cookies, coffee, and some chocolate with bits of mild fruit. Flavor is similar: lactose, cookie, coffee, chocolate, and some mild fruit. Light to medium in body and lingering sweet into the finish.

Sweet, dark brown, sweet, well-balanced, subtle chocolate, touch of nuttiness. This is probably their best beer, showcasing their talent for making the dark, malty stuff.

Growler from hopscotch. Thanks man. Pours a standard brown with a medium colored brown head. Smooth and tasty. Good hit of chocolate notes up front, some nice lactose body, medium roast bill. Nice effort from a very new brewery.

Draft. Nose is full of dark chocolate and roasty coffee. Taste is initially a roasted bitterness that quickly reveals some sweetness and lighter chocolate notes. The finish dries out with some roastiness as well. Silly mid palate is well done with the lactose. Pretty nice beer.

Dark brown pour with a kaki head. Mild roasted malt aromas. Mild roasted malts, caramel, lactose, and dark chocolate notes. Above average body and mouthfeel. Nice complexity. No bullshit, I did not have high expectations. Much better than I anticipated.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a rich black color with a soft java head. Nose is sweet with chocolate notes. Taste is dull but is smooth, but without much flavor and lacking any real sweetness. Finish is dull as well. Less than a mediocre sweet stout. Quaff Score 5 / 10

My Bottom Line:
The intricate interplay of roastiness, dark chocolate, molasses, latte coffee and dark fruit evolves within a silky mouthfeel for a very enjoyable pint of Milk Stout.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam decorates the darkness.
-This is a rating for their first batch of Sea Cow. And it is already very good within its category. Very impressive brew which could get a devout following quickly.
-I appreciate the fact this wasn’t carbonated with nitrogen.
-This is super clean and well balanced throughout.
-Serving temperature was perfect.

On tap at the brewery taproom.

Decent example of a classic Milk Stout. Would like a little more roastiness in the taste and a bit more body in the mouthfeel but it’s not bad where it’s at now.
