COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2011 Slight aged wood aroma and flavor, relatively light in body, pretty good compared to most other pale lagers and stands up to other premium lagers.

Pours a light, clear amber with moderate head. Caramel malt on the nose. Very well-balanced, easy to drink and finishes well. No surprises here. Although a "light" beer, you can taste quality ingredients - no corn, hay, rice, skunk, etc. The premium light beer. It is what it is. Well done.

Lucent copper, thin but lasting white head, medium-light body, medium carbonation.

Aroma: sweet fresh malt, fresh noble hops, clean bready yeast.

Taste: sweet wort, noble hops, caramel, licorice, and bready yeast.

Good for a light beer. Flavors remind me of a helles or dunkel. A good choice if a need a light beer, though not able to really stand on its own, its fine with food or snacks. I’d even say this has more beer flavor and charcter, even body, than the regular marco-brews some of my friends drink.

Poured a crystal clear bright golden amber with a tall foamy off-white head. There were few carbonation bubbles rising up in the glass. There was a very mild bready aroma. The initial taste was slightly crisp and faded fairly quickly. There was a bit of a bread flavor and a very mild malt flavor. The finish was very mild and the head reduced to just a film and left hardly any lacing. I’m not a fan of light beer, but I would prefer this over Bud, Miller & Coors Lights.

The beer pours an amber color with a white head, considerably darker than the BMC light beers this is going up against. The aroma has some biscuit malt to it, but it is also heavy on the grain. The flavor is more of the same. I get a little bit of grass from the hops, but the flavor is predominantly grain and bready malt, with just a little bit of toffee mixed in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Better than other light lagers such as Bud Light, but still not too much going on here. One of the weakest offerings from Boston Beer Company.

Pours a boring translucent brown with minimal head. Aroma is a ninja, completely hidden or not present at all. Taste is carbonated water with a hint of Samuel Adams Boston Lager. Mouth feel is boring and similar to the feeling of a watered down soda. Overall, this is a beer I would recommend for college students to play beer pong or flip cup with. This beer has practical value.

Not bad not special., Maybe the best light beer I tried. Nice foam and dark features too.
