COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Pours a clear golden amber with a small white head. Mild hops aroma. Mild lager flavor. It’s definitely just a lighter version of Sam Adam’s Boston Lager to me. Still a much better option than any other light beer. Extremely drinkable and refreshing. I gave it a decently high overall rating because for a light beer this is impressive.

I hate to give in to the add campaign, but this is a light beer that only the boys in boston could make. It’s my beer of choice for a long night of shooting some billiards. Not much to report other than it has the most flavor of any light beer out there. Very refreshing.

Pours gold with a hint of red and two fingers of white head. Malt, floral hops, and orange blossoms. Sweet malt flavors balanced with a slight bitterness. Orange peel, caramel, and toffee notes. Light body with a high level of carbonation.

1.5 is a great score for a light beer. Nothing special here, tastes like cheap beer brewed correctly. It does look nice in the glass, and I would take it over * (Miller, Coors, Bud) light (or regular for that matter) anyday. It still is a boring, low abv lager, and there really isn’t much you can do about that.

Bottled. pours a dark golden color, with a decent sized head. Aromas of yeast, soy sauce and grass. It is mildly sour, slightly fizzy yet it flat on the palate. It is not a good beer.

Purchased in Nashville in a mixed 12-pack of Samuel Adams. Best before SEP 2010 notched on the side of the label. One of the most beautiful looking "light" beer I have seen. Pours a clear amber colour with a big white head, great retention and nice lacing. The nose is malty with notes of bread. Thicker mouthfeel than I expected, so maybe not as easy-drinking as most light beer drinkers would like. Watered-down taste of malt, bread and biscuit. Notes of roasted malt in the aftertaste. Based on their normal Boster lager (which I love) but being a light beer, just not as powerful, but that is normal for what they are trying here. A great light brew.

This is actually pretty OK for a light beer. I wouldn’t mind drinking this if I was on a diet or something. It pours a clear light amber color with a disappearing white head. It looks better than your standard light beer. The aroma is lager yeast, with some metallic notes. The flavor is lightly fruity, biscuity, and pretty watery. It has an artificial sweetener tasting finish. Not very good overall, but one of the better light beers I’ve had.

Pours a medium amber with a decent head. Almost no aroma. Almost no taste. What’s up with this beer? I thought it had flavor. I guess I’ve just been getting spoiled by good beer.
