COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Crisp refreshing hops the way a light beer should be. Good overall but not at all great.

The color is light amber gold. The head is a little off white in color and lightly frothy The smell is of a very light hop smell as well as a slight malty flavor to the background. The taste at first is sweet at first and then has a slight bitterness to it to round out the flavor. Hints of caramel, and toffee. I have had a few light beers and this rates best among the several that I have had. The taste does not differ much from the reular Sam Adams lager and therefore is quite easy to switch from one to the other without even noticing.

For a light beer, its incredibly drinkable. Amber in color. Lots of bubbles. Maybe a little over carbonated. Much more malt than a typical light beer. Enough hops that you notice its presence. For a light beer its very well done. As just a beer its kind of lacking. Still I think it deserves a little more love than it gets.

Pours a nice reddish amber with a white head. Aroma is spices, caramel, malt, and a touch of english hops. Flavor is hops, malt, caramel, yeast, spices, yeasts. Lots of flavor for a light beer. Impressive for what it is.

12 oz bottle. Pours a nice dark golden slightly reddish color with a medium white quickly vanishing head. Tastes a little of bread and biscuit with a slight roasted taste. I don’t normally like light beer but this is by far the best light beer I’ve had. I enjoyed this beer but probably won’t buy it again unless it’s in another mixed case.

As far as light beer goes it’s one of my favorites, but it’s draw back is that it’s a light beer. This is a dark amber beer that pours with a fizzy head that dissapears quickly. It has a mild malty, hoppy aroma and the taste is a mild sweet malty flavor with a touch of fizz. This is a nice light beer that goeswith just about anything and has a little more flavor than most. If you buy it in the bottle, drink it that way. Pouring into a glass will cause it to go flat fast!
