COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Best by: Sep, 2012 Pours amber with a cap of white foam. Brilliant clarity. Smells of sweet malts and hints of tea - very, very similar to standard Boston Lager. Flavors of grain and light malts with a bit of corny character - but pleasant. Thin with hi carb and lightly dry finish. Nice beer and well worth a try for those watching their calories. from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - clear and bright amber colour with a moderate foam left; grainy and flowery aroma with notes of undefined fruits underneath; moderate malt backbone and a light sweetnes, notes of caramel and flowers in the finish

This is probably the best light beer I’ve had. Surprisingly flavorful and it has a nice malty character.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured copper, clear, light off white head. Aroma of yeast and malts combined with some grains. Taste is consistent. This is not a great beer, keep in mind that it is a light beer but among light beers it’s actually good. Will work quite well during a sunny, warm day.

5/30/2010. Well, it’s a light beer and it is what it is. Compared to others in the same class, it still stands out. Malt, fruit and light hoppy aromas. Thinner mouth feel than Boston Lager and less flavorful.

Not too much of an aroma.. If anything, just some notes of bread malt and a faint whiff of piny or floral hops. Also has an ever so slightly fruity smell. I do like the deep gold almost amber color, although there is not much of a head and there appear to be very few bubbles rising. Flavor of toasted malt, which is nice. Not sure if it’s just a bad bottle, but the palate was a little watery. Overall, this is definitely a good beer for its style.

Bottle:   Pale copper, strong orange hue, clear, moderate sudsy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Bready aroma, a bit of whole wheat, slight honey, some of that Bit-o-Honey like candy from the 80s.   Honeycomb cereal up front, bready but not too heavy, with slight nuttiness and biscuity notes on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, despite being a light beer.   Somewhat shocked by the color and maltiness for a light beer.   Soft bread, honey, and nuttiness lingers.   Pretty decent and clean for a light beer.   Nice work!

4.3% bottle from Publix Supermarket, Kissimmee, Florida. This is a golden beer with a light caramel flavour, slight toffee notes and a fruity finish. Pretty much the same calories as a normal beer but with a light / no taste – why?

Not a premium. Sam, stick to real beers. Pale yellow colour wit thin white head, almost no lacing. Flavour is almost nothing, a ghost of a malt. Pale and faint finish.
