COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a crystal clear copper color with a one finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is light malt and herbal hops. Flavor is basically the same. Medium body. Drinkable.

(bottle). Pours a medium yellow color. Small white head, which dimishes quickly. Light alcohol and malt aroma. Light malt taste. Minimal lacing. Smooth finish. Soft carbonation.

Bottle at friends wedding reception...it was free. Ice cold, it wasn’t terrible. has an amber color. Light hops and malts, fitting since it’s a light lager......it was free.

Bottle at Newark Airport (for $7!!). Light amber colour, with a hoppy nose. Watery taste and mouthfeel. Some malt and caramel. Distinctive Sammie Adams nuts and malts in the finish. Okay.

Pale malt aroma with a touch of hop; very mild aroma Crystal clear, light amber in color with a mediocre fast-fading head Thin and relatively flavorless, it’s difficult to detect any real beer-like flavors. With Light Beers dominating the conventional beer market, it’s understandable that Boston Beer Co. would want to enter into the fray. And the like nationals, this beer is watered down, bland and non-descript. It will probably sell to the masses nicely. Personally, I preferred Sam’s old Lightship.

What can you say? Not bad at all for those of us looking for a calorie conscious beer with extraordinary taste and aroma.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2010 clean, light bready. refreshing. not a lot going on, but that can be a good thing. doesnt have flaws of macros. nice beer!
