Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

(Bottle) Pours golen with a small white head. Not much in the way of aroma, but smooth and balanced, with a medium mouthfeel. Light hoppy notes give this one a dry, yet satisfying finish. When comparing this to other light beers, there is virtually no comparison.

This is the best light beer going. I’d prefer this over a lot of other micro-brews I’ve had. There is nothing special, but aroma has a crisp balance of hops and malt as does the taste. In addition, this beer finishes smooth. It has a medium body, which is unheard of with light beers. I could drink this casually or hit it all night. Best in its class by far. Love it!

Bottled. Poured a clear, healthy shade of golden with a short cap of white head. Nose was of some sweet caramel, pale malt, lighter floral hops, and a hint of citrus... not very potent, but clean. Flavor had a slightly greater emphasis on the floral notes with a mild bitterness... backed by pale malt and toffee at the core. Medium carbonation and dry toward the back and through the finish. Some sweet malts and mild bitterness remain for the finish. Refreshing.

A respectable light beer with a unique flavor profile, lending itself to a clean, crisp finish. However, it is still a far cry away from artisanal craft brewed varieties available in this style.

Doesnt have adjucts (yay) and the light beer does a great job of tasting like a regular beer. Actaully has more hoppy flavor than a regualr macros, which just shows how pathtic some of those macros are.

I’ve got to say, this is pretty good for a light beer. However, as someone else has said, if you want to lose weight, don’t drink beer.

If you have to drink a lite beer, here is the one to try. Actually not much less calories and carbs than regular beer, but what’s the point? If you are on a diet, don’t drink beer! I especially liked it on draft, and it beats Miller and Bud Light by a wide margin.

Bottle. Probably the best tasting light beer out there. Pours a yellow color with a small head on top. Aroma is pretty no existant besides malt being in there predominantly. Flavor is quite light and refreshing with caramel and malt being the biggest flavors. I am surprised at the amount of flavor this light beer can have. Definitely a nice yardwork beer. I am glad I could get my friend to like this more than Miller Lite!
