COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

I’m not a fan of Sam Adams, but I like Sam Adams Light because it’s a watered down version of the Lager. Why pay $8 for a 6-pack of light beer?

not a lot of hops, light beer, light on color, light in taste. ....so what?

Bottle. Passable if no other option- a little better than I thought it would be. Just a lighter version of Boston Lager- lighter color, more malty/sweet, less hops. Significantly better than a Miller Lite or Bud Light no question, but it still lacks that full, complex, richness of a non-light beer.

THe best light beer hands down. The Ron Paul of Light beer’s. The only negative is the relatively low alcohol content.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2009 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. One of the better light beers I have has. Pours a nice looking caramel color with nice off-white head. Aroma of light caramel, toast, a little nut and very light hops. Flavor is light caramel and very light hop flavor to balance. Mouth feel is light body but not very watery and high carbonation. Overall, it’s not bad at all.....

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2008 From a 12oz. bottle--Poured a dull wheat straw color with an average white head. Bready nose and a hint of spicy hops. Tasted like a macro brew but without the adjuncts. Best light beer yet. I can’t believe they also make Utopias and the Triple Bock!

This is a fantastic light beer. The body is highly carbonated, allowing bubbles to dance upon your tongue as you taste subtle hops, malt, and a crisp alcohol kick.
