COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tumbler. best before september. Pours a pretty light bronze color with two fingers of foam and lots of carbonation. Malt and yeast on the nose with some hop bitterness. Smells pretty close to bud light. Taste is reminiscent as well but with more roasted malt flavor. Not a lot but enough to make it much more enjoyable than bud light. Mouthfeel is surprisingly flat. Finish is brief and clean. Roasted malt lingers for just a second with some sweetness and then vanishes. Nothing fancy. I don’t know if this is what they were going for but they built a nice session beer if you’re used to sessioning a 12 pack of bud light or something similar.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light amber with an off-white head. Light pale malt aroma. Flavor is rather thin, with kind of a soapy pale maltiness and a bit of green apple and florals. Very slight bitterness in the finish. But just very thin. I’ve heard people call this the only "Light" beer they can drink, and I guess I can see that, but I was expecting a little more. Still, I suppose it’s a good attempt to walk the line between extremely light body and good flavors.

12 oz bottle, came in the Summer 12 pack. Pours light amber with a small white head. Actually leaves a bit of lace. Aroma is mostly light caramel malt with a touch of grassy hops. Light malt flavor balanced well with hops. Thin in the mouth with average carbonation. I gotta say, not bad for a light beer.

Bottle. Pours golden with a big white head. Aroma is grains, grasses, florals, faint citrus. Flavor is like light beer....grains, grass and florals. Light mouthfeel, nasty mouthfeel. This is what it is...i guess id rather drink it than macro.

Bottle from summer 12 pack. Clear light gold with little head. Nose of corn and detergent. Taste is very light hops with a bit of malt but with a very bitter, astringent aftertaste. This will be a very difficult bottle to finish-so I won’t torture myself.

Poured a copper color with a creamy head. The aroma was light grain, honey, with some light floral/grassy hop note. The flavor was the same. A decent light brew.
