This is not a light vienna beer style closer to a light american amber. The taste goes from almost nothing to crisp hops with a hint of pine. As far a light beer are concerned this the best I have had. BillWyce (100), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Poured a nice amber color with a decent head. Light aroma of citrus with a piney note underneath. Palate was what you’d expect of a light beer-light and smooth. Mild hoppy taste. Seems like a dumbed down Boston Lager. It’s a light beer, but it’s probably the best choice if you have to go with a light. slayer02348 (77), , Michigan, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 2, 2010 A pretty good light beer. Has a good balanced flavor and is pretty smooth going down. The best of the light beers, which as far as I’m concerned still isn’t anything too great aenimopiate (148), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 29, 2009 As far as light beers go, I guess this one is not too bad. As far as beer goes, this one is lacking the body and soul of the original sam adams boston lager. It’s drinkable, but not my first preference. Give it a try for yourself and see what you think. Just don’t expect it to live up to the original. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA

And here we go. I wanted to be able to say that Sammy’s light was better than most other light beers, but it’s just not. Pale and soulless pour, fizzy in an Alka Seltzer kinda way. Tastes like paper and diet Fresca. More egg nog, please. obguthr (1081), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Surprisingly strong aroma of a barley, especially for a "light beer". Clear golden amber, no head. Essentially flavorless at first. Dried leaves and cherries appear at midpalate and are more easily noticed when warm. Yep, this is a light beer, alright. The aroma led me to believe it might be something more. It tastes pretty much like a watered down amber. The label is correct, there is no aftertaste. Unfortunately, there is no foretaste either. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is light but of pale and caramel malts. Flavor is also a blend of pale and caramel malt. OK for what is supposed to be a light beer I guess. Niko100 (170), New York, USA
