Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Sam Adams in general is probably my favorite beer. The Light is very smooth and easy to drink. It tastes like a beer is supposed to taste and is not watered down like some other light beers.

Pours a light golden amber with a one-finger white head that showed great life with lots of bubbles rushing to the top. This looks great compared to most light beers. Nothing too special in the smell with wheat, light hops and some other grainy smells. The taste was a fuller version of the aroma with some decent wheat and light hop flavors. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean and not very watery at all. This is one of the better light lagers I’ve tasted and very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours amber, and smells of hops. However, the look is deceiving because it stands out none from any other light beer in taste. It almost reminds me of a fake Sam Adams.

Hands down the best light beer I’ve ever had. But I think we all know that’s not saying much. Still for what it is, it’s not bad. Not very flavorful of full-bodied but it’s still very drinkable. And at least it doesn’t have a heavy corn flavor.

Bottled@ tomy doyles (Newton, MA). clear Golden Color with a nice white head. Aroma is weak, some malty and nothing else. Flavor is pretty much the same, but is refreshing. No bitterness at end.

I’m not a fan of light beers, but this has to be the best of the worst I’ve had so far. Normally at parties, someone always asks for some type of light beer, and I think in the future, it’s going to be this one. The head is somewhat thick in the beginning, there’s a watery orange-amber color throughout, and it’s got a smell and taste that I wouldn’t have expected (a kick at first, but watery afterwards).
