COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

I figured that if anybody could make a good light beer then my favorite large brewer Sam Adams could. Boy was I drunk when I thought of that. It turns out that God himself couldn't make a tasty light beer, and I should know. It is of course the best light beer I've ever had, but I'd still order a mixed drink instead if this was the only thing available at the bar. I'll wrap this up by only saying nice things about the beer: It's thin, light body makes it easy to chug like water, but fizzier. Beats the living hell out of anything else with a "light" label on it. A great beer to use to turn your light beer drinking freinds over to the dark side. (Luke, I'm your father.) If you spill it it won't stain your shirt. If you've ever urinated then you'll know what to expect if you pour it out of the bottle, which would be a waste of a clean glass so don't.

Refreshing and very good, lots of flavor for a light beer. Roasted grains and malts. Darker color than other lagers I’ve had. Hops are subtle, but noticeable.

Bottle. Clear/pale amber color with a light off-white head. Sweet malt and hops in the aroma. Sweet malt in the flavor with some light bitterness. Malty finish with some light nice bitterness in the aftertaste. This is how you make a light beer. In terms of light beers solely,, I’d give this around a 4 or so.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this beer yet, poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. This beer is a dark golden amber color with a nice thick short white head. The flavor is yeasty with a hop finish, very good flavor for a light beer. Overall, an excellent light beer and a good beer overall.

Pours an amber from a bottle, good clean malty aroma, maybe a little biscuity, nice clean flavor when cold, probably one of the better American lagers I’ve had, and a light one at that. Better than the Sam Adams Boston Lager. Good beer.
