3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is orange/yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is of light citrus and faint caramel sweetness. Flavor is refreshing but dull - grapefruit, pine, light malt. Not bad, very sessionable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Decent IPA, quite a bit of bitter and pine hops. Malt takes a back seat here, built up just enough to support the hops. Nice to have an IPA that is not sweet. A little dry. Slight amount of fruit.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A strong gold color, Strong head, Beautiful earthy hoppy aroma but that is were it kind of ends, taste is okay certainly get the citrus but get a sudden punch of hops instead of a nice transition. Mouth feel is light which only make s the taste a little more confusing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smell is clean, fresh but light. Some grapefruit. Taste is subdued hops and fruit. Clean tasting, light to moderate bitterness, and seems like an east coast representation of a west coast ipa. Leaning dry which is nice as its not sweet and syrupy in the background. Clean grapefruit rind and medium body with crisp carbonation. Nice ipa.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance is clear light golden with a fluffy white foam cap. Aroma is fresh cut grass, lemon, grapefruit. Solid IPA aroma. Taste is...different. Thin bready malt with a sudden punch of bitterness. Not nearly as much citrus character on the taste. Not well balanced. Mouthfeel is very light for the style, low carbonation. Finishes with a lingering bitterness and grapefruit. Definitely leans more bitter than balanced. Overall, one of the worst west coast IPAs Iíve had. Thin body, unbalanced, and the overall malt character is lacking

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Trionaís, NYC tap ($4): Pours orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, grapefruit, and a hint of sugars. Taste is mildly bitter. It is quite fruity. This beer is not really aggressive or rebellious. It is certainly good enough as far as an IPA goes, but it doesnít really consummate the relationship.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Tangerine yellow in color with a very large and frothy white head. Citrus fruits and fresh peaches dominate the aroma, though there is a very faint spruce note at the end atop malted milk balls and vanilla. Moderately bitter flavor that slowly yet greatly grows in intensity, and flavors of mild bubblegum, light prairie grasses, fresh bread and orange rind bounce in and out of the flavor profile. Quaffable, though a little rough and grainy around the edges.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
$2 single poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass. Best by June 2014.
Appearance: Insanely gorgeous beer. Pours a golden yellow with perfect clarity. Fluffy off-white head that just sticks around and doesnít move for awhile. Heavy initial lacing. Canít ask for much more. (4.5/5)
Smell:Decent grapefruit aroma. Really a lot of malty sweetness. A bit of pine. Actually pretty damn underwhelming. It almost smells a bit stale, but itís not. eh. (3.5/5)
Taste/feel: Mega malt sweetness. Tastes like a hopped up pale ale rather than an IPA. Caramel malt at the beginning, and especially on the end. A bit thin with moderate carbonation. Bittersweet finish with some of the grapefruit and pine bouncing off each other. (3.5/5, 3.75/5)
I thought some may say this is a good starterís IPA just because itís made by Sam Adams (generally thought of as a training wheels brewery), but it actually is a pretty good one for people stepping into IPAs. Slightly bitter, but more sweet, so it could turn a lot of people on to the world of hops. I guess this really is a rebel IPA, as itís not all-too-much like a typical India Pale Ale. 3.75 overall just because I like it as a beer to get people started. West Coast IPA though? Methinks not.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft. Pours clear golden color with white head. Served way too cold. Took 20 minutes before aroma bloomed. aroma was caramel malt, citrus hops. Flavor started sweet caramel malt and finished with a cirtrus hop. This beer was good but I think advertising it as a west coast IPA hurts it. Itís way too balanced for west coast. Maybe they mean the west coast of the Boston Harbor.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 Apr 2014, draft @ Marble Hill Inn, Sherrill NY. Straw color, ring lacing. Dry, tart IPA. Hoppy, but malt lacks staying power. Fair.
