1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Aroma is fruity, sweet, sugary and a bit grassy. I can mildly smell a pils in this aroma. Mildly hazy golden color with a small whitish head. Start is sweet, turning thin and a bit sour. Finishes grainy and adjuncty and watery. Mild artificial sweetness to finish. Egh.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Leon Pub, Tallahassee, Fl - 12 oz bottle. Looks like a urine specimen - cloudy and pale - little to no head. Aroma - a bit of wet cardboard and rancid grain. Flavor does not have much to offer - a faint wisp of sweet honey in the back end is about the only thing outside of the cheap corny lager taste. Very thin mouthfeel. Typical tropical lager.

much thanks to whoever brought this crap to the beer room weekend. it was skunky, had a corn taste, but damn does the tropical vibe associated with a beer from brazil just make it worth it. Damn glad to have had it.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle, probably from late 2003 or 2004 (not a huge turnover for stuff like this). Light corn and nuttiness in the nose, with some minerals and a bit of light chalk. Simple, pale-yellow appearance with a small ring of foamy, white head. Iím not seeing the roasted barley, though there is some saltiness and something bolstering the mostly light body. Seems like a below-average pale lager to me. Though it certainly wasnt a drain pour, IMHO. Wasnít skunked and didnt have much staleness to it. A bit of metal on the end. Iíll stick to Modelo Especial for now, though Iíve got a large amount of tropical lagers to get through at my local store so the hunt is still on for a great pale lager!

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
I drank this bottle that was handed to by my employee, saying he had it laying around awhile, was going to throw it out, but knew I liked trying beers. Under these ideal conditions I sampled this brand. One of the worst beers I have ever had! Mildly skunky aroma set the mood. Mildly off-flavor continued the good times. Mild gag reflex in the finish, thankfully ended my suffering.. Probably better fresh, while walking along Copacabana looking at young dark topless Brazilian girls.

"100 years of brewing artistry"? Itís a shame they learned so little in all that time. This was a gift from someone who knew I drank beers from all over the world. How does one say "thank you" to a gift of foreign piss-water? We brew enough of that here! But, it was the thought that counts. And at least I didnít spend anything to sample this swill beverage.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2004 Bottled, from Rythym & Booze in Brigg. Straw gold, poor head that disappears almost instantly and minimal condition. Foul chemical, almond and peardrops intitially in the nose, becoming starchy sweet. Awful sweetness in the mouth with some background bitterness and a nasty oily mouthfeel. Short finish with some starch notes. Best avoided, unless you chill it till its bollocks drop off but even that fails to hide the almond notes.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled. A sulphorous farty nose to this light golden coloured lager. The taste starts off clean, dry, crisp and reasonable, but develops into a bit of a smoky eggy mess. It is quite interesting and has some character even if that is not always pleasant.
