From the barrel at the Wandsworth Common Beer Festival, 25th March 2011. Orange colour and somewhat flat. Slightly woody nose and flavour. Kind of what you’d expect - Junction with an oaky edge. Better than the oak aged Wandle but not to my taste.

Cask (gravity dispense from a small oak barrel) at Wandsworth Common Beer Festival @ Le Gothique on 25 March 2011. Murky amber colour. No head but quite lively condition. Seemed rather dryer and less fruity than the normal version. Also a fair amount of citric hop presence that I’ve not really picked up on the regular Junction. Some woody and faint vanilla notes from the oak. Quite tasty. Good firm mouthfeel. As with the oak aged Wandle, a standard bitter isn’t an obvious candidate for barrel treatment but it worked rather well and I found it a definite improvement over the normal version.
