Cask conditioned handpump Harp London. An amber coloured beer with sweet notes and caramel. Yeasty and peppery in a Harveys way like the Wandle, but again it’’s not in Harveys’ class. A touch of berry fruitiness to give it a little interest.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2011 Cask/handpump at the Magpie & Crown, Brentford. Pours a dark amber with a coarse white head. Fruity nose, dry palate with herb/spicy hops, hints of dark chocolate and maybe some dried fig. Clean dry bitter finish. Re-rate at Masons Arms Teddington, hint of choc on the nose, roast malt and red fruit on palate, spicy hops, soft, malty and dry finish. Excellent.
