berkshirejohn (4645) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2010
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2012 Cask at the Bree Louise, Euston. Copper with a thin cream coloured head that laced the glass well; rich malty aroma with some red fruits and butterscotch; full bodied with a fruity and spicy taste - reminds me of spiced plums; lightly hopped finish. Very drinkable. (January 2010 - 6/3/6/3/13=3.1)

50cl bottle from the brewery. Copper with no head; red fruit aroma; solid malty taste with light dry finish. Still very drinkable. (June 2012 - 6/3/6/3/13=3.2)

Ethereal (2417) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 31, 2009
Cask at the Cat’s Back, Wandsworth, with tashi, 16th Nov 09. Classic copper bitter looks with a smooth white head. Really does taste like a smooth version of Harveys Sussex Best (no bad thing!) Great balance and very moreish.

Svesse (6234) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 6, 2009
(Cask at Harp, Covent Garden, London, 26 Nov 2009) Brownish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of dried apricots, dusty hops and a touch of sulphur. Malty, nutty taste with dried fruit, apricots, nuts, a touch of butter and dusty hops in the finish. Below medium body, rather sweet. A decent bitter.

Cask in the rake. Alround rating: Caramel pale malt, earthy yeasty character, fruity character, bit of fruity hop balance. Decent.

Cask conditioned handpump Harp London. An amber coloured beer with sweet notes and caramel. Yeasty and peppery in a Harveys way like the Wandle, but again it’’s not in Harveys’ class. A touch of berry fruitiness to give it a little interest.

Cask handpull at The Rake, Borough. Yeasty and lovely biscuity malt. Good fruit, it’s got some hopo on end. Really pretty good bitter.

Cask conditioned at The Market Porter, Borough. Amber with white head. Quite a standard bitter with a sweetish character. Some hops but not outstandingly so. It’s ok.

downender (6445) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 25/11/09. Copper coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of biscuit malts, damsons and some hedgerow hops. Flavour of hazelnuts, dryish malts and a touch of brambly hop in the finish. Good.
