Very sulpurous aroma. Stinky hops. Big grainy body. Not so good, as it’s a bit too sulphurous.

Cask conditioned handpump Harp London. An amber coloured beer with sweet notes and caramel. Yeasty and peppery in a Harveys way like the Wandle, but again it’’s not in Harveys’ class. A touch of berry fruitiness to give it a little interest.

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Slightly ashy malty aroma with notes of caramel, accompanied by slightly grassy and subtle fruity hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light bodied with a soft carbonation. Mildly roasted malty taste with notes of caramel, bread crusts and ashes, combined with lighter spicy and slightly grassy hoppy accents; bitter-sweet and slightly roasted malty finish with spicy and delicately fruity hops. Unspectacular but likeable. 16.IV.14

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 02/03/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with a thin off white head that retains well. Nose is dark malts, fruits, light hops. Taste comprises much the same, apple, light sugar. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, bitter finish. Average - have had in the past and now having rated it confirms not one to revisit unless its the only beer on!

Cask handpull, SIBA Champions Fest 2011, The Canalhouse, Nottingham. Copper-bronze, lacing white slick. Aroma of dates, figs, oranges, a snort of exotic spice: cinnamon? Flavour: not fully dried stone fruits (plums, dates, apricots), milk choc afters. Fragrant, slightly chewy...and a little bizarre. Nothing like anything else I’ve had today. Fair play to them. Liked this.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Bree Louise.
Slightly hazy amber colour with a good off white head and plenty of lace. A very pleasant bitter indeed. Slight straw, hay and pig farm. Excellent earthy malt with some hints of burnt sugar. Just the right amount of floral hoppage to balance it all out really well. Finish is so well balanced it almost feels a little dull but it lasts long enough to regain my interest. Good stuff.
