COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional. Also available bottle conditioned (at 5.0%).
The first Ale in our seasonal range, Powerhouse Porter is our modern take on this classic London beer style.
Powerhouse is named in association with our local landmark Battersea Power Station.
We brew with a combination of brown, chocolate, crystal and pale malts and hop with a blend of Fuggles, Boadicea, Challenger and Fuggles. Powerhouse Porter is 4.9% ABV with a rich, dark chocolate flavour and an aroma of toasted malt and winter fruits.

Cask @ The Kings Arms, after a frustrating (if relieving) Chelsea victory. The pour’s deep reddish brown with a bubbly off-white head. The nose is big raspberry, hints of roasted grain, mildly astringent apple peel. The taste is more berry fruits. After acclimating to the the initial berry taste, a real strong red apple cider taste started to dominate. Little roast malt or dry coffee flavors present. This beer definitely has taken a funky infection on. Light body, soft. Overall, I can’t say the infection made this beer undrinkable, it just turned it into something that doesn’t resemble the beer described by other reviewers. Re-rate needed.

Good but not great version of a classic porter. Slight oxidation. Probably would be better closer to the source.

Tastes of dark, burnt malts, giving it a dry mouth feel. Big hop bitterness as well as an odd lingering tang on the palate, perhaps it could do with being a bit sweeter?

Barwa: ciemna, brązowa, pod światło prześwitująca, klarowna. Piana kremowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, obfita, utrzymująca się i ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Wysycenie niskie. Aromat: zaskakująco ubogi, lekkie nuty palone, może malanoidyny, owoce i tyle... Smak: początkowo słodki, następnie do głosu dochodzą ciemniejsze słody.

Drukket i heimen 30 Aug 13. Dyp rřdbrun. Middels hřyt skum som daler raskt. Litt lacing. Forsiktig aroma av rřstet malt. Myk munnfřlelse. Smaken er lakris & sřt rřstet malt. Ettersmak av sjokolade & litt kaffe. En lett-drikkelig porter.

Bottle at home from sourced market. Aromas of hazzelnut, nutty buttery caramel. Some soapy notes. Clear dark ruby red pour with a small fleeting cream head. Flavour is chocy roast, musty, caramel and some earthy hop. Medium sweet caramel medium body and average carbonation. Middle of the road.

Cask Pint at Edward Rayne (JDW), Raynes Park, London in Nov 2013 - Mahogany/Reddish-Brown in colour. Very Malty; roasty malts, lots of coffee, dark chocolate, caramel. Hoppy; earthy hops. Fruity; dried fruits, raisins. Very roast malty with a rather harsh sourness, leaving a bitter finish. Despite that it is quite drinkable. Decent.
