The first Ale in our seasonal range, Powerhouse Porter is our modern take on this classic London beer style.
Powerhouse is named in association with our local landmark Battersea Power Station.
We brew with a combination of brown, chocolate, crystal and pale malts and hop with a blend of Fuggles, Boadicea, Challenger and Fuggles. Powerhouse Porter is 4.9% ABV with a rich, dark chocolate flavour and an aroma of toasted malt and winter fruits.

A moderately strong dark beer with subtle aroma of roasted malts. Plenty of tan coloured head and a smoky malt flavour with a minor chocolate finish and after taste. A pleasant drink and classic style porter with not much adaptation which is refreshing as some brewers have adapted this style too much, it is nice to go back to basics.

Fairly decent porter that rolls off the tongue easily but overall feels watery and a bit too simple. Nonetheless, an enjoyable pint

Handpump at The Harp, London. Black tough clear pour with reddish highlights, creamy head much retention. Nose: soft oxidation, leather, cherries a bit. Mouth: quite watery and truly dry, some character comes up when you sip it again and again. Infused coffee and some red fruit. The other side of Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ The Harp, London, UK. Pours with a dark red clear colour, medium long lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma is medium malty, with some notes of roasted malt, and slightly hoppy. Medium sweet, slightly bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. I think this is not a porter: I donít know what it is, but it certainly isnít a porter.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
