The first Ale in our seasonal range, Powerhouse Porter is our modern take on this classic London beer style.
Powerhouse is named in association with our local landmark Battersea Power Station.
We brew with a combination of brown, chocolate, crystal and pale malts and hop with a blend of Fuggles, Boadicea, Challenger and Fuggles. Powerhouse Porter is 4.9% ABV with a rich, dark chocolate flavour and an aroma of toasted malt and winter fruits.

Half- pint, cask at The Lamb, the classic Young’s pub in Bloomsbury. Very dark body with a deep ruby tint. Tiny off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, wood and dried fruits. Pretty similar taste profile containing resinous hops, wood, earthy malts and bittersweet, dark chocolate to the ending. Nice (London, 26.11.2012).

Fra flaske på årets siste Mi2, Cardinal: brunsvart med kort, storboblet skum. Litt kaffe, aske/røy og visne solbær. Tørr, med lett brent ettersmak.

Backlog. At Mi2 at Cardinal 25.03.13. Dark brown. Pale brown head. Aroma of anise, Belgian dubbel and dark fruits. Taste of chocolate. Some tar and overripe fruits in aftertaste. Medium long bitterness. Perhaps a bit overcarbonated. OK drinkability. Improved as it became warmer.

Cask@barton arms, birmingham. Brown beer with small bubbly head. Aroma of roasted malts and toffee. Taste sweet toffee, licorice, roasted malts and a little coffee. A touch sticky on the palate. Decent.

Cask at the Barton Arms; clear chestnut brown pour with a soapy tan head, coffee and red fruit aroma, taste has cereal action, along with coffee and some fruits.

Draught at black door in Helsinki. Bit of dark fruit and butter but no strong Aroma. Look like a Pepsi with little bit of lightly tanned head (0,2 inches). Sweet taste, dust and watery cherries is what comes to my mind. A bit of plastic roastiness too... Bit of old bread and sourness... Not pleasant beer! To avoid if you want a nice evening. By definition avoid sambrook’s stuff.

Diminishing fawn head. Clear dark dark brown body with ruby tones. Crocheted pearl-lacing. Aroma; mild sweet malts, toffee, floral hops, cocoa notes. Taste; prunes, cocoa, caramel, dusty hops, chocolate. Cocoa finish with faint notes of sweet banana. Soft in the mouth, nice body on 4.9%. Quaffable porter indeed. On cask at Greyhound, Hartshill. Pours very dark brown with a red hue, head is tan. Quite sweet for a porter which spoils a very smooth base. Nice enough but could have been much better.
