Cask and unpasteurised bottle; Seasonal - Summer. Also as Sambrooks Pale Ale.

Our Pale Ale is brewed with Maris Otter pale malt and contains a mixture of Admiral, First Gold, Celeia and New Zealand Hallertau whole leaf hop. This gives our pale ale a light, dry and zesty tate with a citrus aroma

Bottled, 500ml from Sainsbury’s in Banbury. Gold with whithe head. Odd perfumed aroma leading to the flowery, perfumed vaguely cold tea like flavour that puts me on edge a little, some citrus though and a little fruitiness to rescue it, but just not to my taste.

Cask - Chelsea Potter, Chelsea. A clear Amber with a lasting, lacing one-finger White to odd-White head. Mis-fruit aromas, a little appley, bready and yeasty. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slightly oily with a soft length and intensity finish.

Cask at the Knights Templar. Barely there white head. Gold body with a light haze. Dough, some lemon, some fruit. Tangy. Dry, oily finish. Crap.

Pint at the William Morris Hammersmith. Citrus aroma, bright gold with a white head. Lemon/lime and nutty biscuit flavour, but an astringent green bitterness kind of interferes with the quaffibility. I fear there may be one hop variety too many here.

Cask (handpump) at the Junction, Clapham Junction on 28 August 2015 as Sambrooks Pumphouse Pale Ale. Thought I’d rated this before but I guess it’s buried in the backlog somewhere. Pale gold appearance. Thin white head. Clean and juicy. Some citrus. Bittersweet feel. Refreshing if undemanding. I would have had this down as a Golden ale rather than a Bitter, even if it’s not particularly aromatic.
