2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at Buckingham Arms, London SW1. An amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Hardly any aroma to speak of. Tastes vaguely hoppy, malty, fruity. Thin, bland and dreadful. My god, British beer really needs to up its game.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
[Cask at Milton Keynes Beer Festival 2011] Dark amber, loose white head, very sulphurous with green leafy hops and vanilla. After initially hating it, I upped my mark a little whilst drinking it, but still found it unpleasant.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Harp. Amber-golden pour with a tight head that leaves thick curtains along the glass. The nose on this one is very Belgian. Some stewed apple aroma with a bit of cinnamon and a little whiff of sulphur. Light orange peel along with some herbal hops. A little bit of clove and some light apricot as well. It’s like a Belgian-English cross really. A bit of stewed fruit and a lingering bitter finish.

Cask (GBBF2011, Thursday)
Very pungent hop aroma. Simple bitter, but the finish has a great hoppy tingle, and plenty of light grains too. Full of character for 3.8%, nicely done.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
August 12, 2011 - cask at The Draft House (Tower Bridge). Amber with an average frothy off-white head. Leafy, papery dry aroma - taste follows, no paper, grainy but not particularly sweet, a simple straightforward clean bitter (odd how few of these are around these days in the good pubs!!) - no alcohol, a bit of wheaty character ... chewy, light, mild carbonation, quick dry finish, no aftertaste - nothing wrong with this one, nothing special either.
