This beer is a good looker, with a cloudy hue that makes it look like an IPA. The aroma is a nice mix of citrus and floral notes but the head rings a few alarm bells as it swirls in the glass, suggesting excessive carbonation. In fact, it’s so fizzy in the mouth it’s hard to concentrate on anything else. There are plenty of hops, but not much malt backbone.

Bottled at Slowbeer, Melbourne, Victoria. Cloudy amber, small head. Faint citrus aroma. Mid sweet with clean mouthfeel and light-medium body, Crystal malt and citrus. Low-medium bitterness. Hard, basic malt character. Fails to take off.

Great bottle presentation. Pours a beautiful deep amber with some pulp, large white head. Aroma of grapefruit and stone fruit, I’d prefer a little more aroma. Spicy and caramel hop flavour is balanced well with malty drive. Great pale ale session beer. Hopefully they stay true to their promise and release seasonal batches.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours amber with a large head.
Nose shows sweet, malt, grainy notes, soft vegetal characters and spicy hops. The grainy malt and vegetal characters are a bit off-putting.
More sweet malt as flavours with a bit of cookie dough notes. More vegetal characters. Needs more bitterness, the finish seems weak.
More carbonation would be good too.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Label suggests this a beer targeted towards those who give a jot about kerning &c. Clear golden amber with a modest white head that lasts quite well. Aroma of nectarine and kumquats, some passionfruit, caramel and biscuit. Fairly sweet with caramel, nectarines and biscuit. Sharper, more grapefruity citrus than suggested by the aroma. Moderate bitterness. The hop flavours struggle a little to emerge from the malts. Tasty enough.
