Jukkabro (2307), Tampere, Finland May 7, 2008 Strongly hazy appearance with brown-yellow color, little yellow head. Grains dominate in this aroma with some butter and yeasty-vegetables. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also grainy with lemon and yeasty vegetables, rather sahti-like palate with no carbonation. Some burned tones also here in aftertaste. Well, not too much of a ESA.
Miksu (1205), Jyväskylä, Finland May 9, 2008 0.5 l bottle. Murky brown color with quickly vanishing head. Very worty aroma with caramel, raisins, nuts, juniper and kitchen sink. Sweet worty, caramelly and yeasty flavor with fruity esters and raisins. Has strong aroma and flavor of unfermented wort, very much like sahti. Enjoyit (1080), Vadum, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 Muddy brown of color with a weak beige head. An aroma of caramel as it never was finished. A very malty sweet flavor. Another very bad beer form Samsø - and infected. HenrikSoegaard (2941), Randers, Denmark Mar 7, 2008 Bottle. Frothy off-whte good mostly deminishing head. Dark orange colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Careamellic notes. Average light bitter finish. Slightly infected, like not well succesfull homebrew. Watery palate and too fizzy. Another bad beer from samsø. Maria (3899), Thisted, Denmark Mar 1, 2008 This beer floods out of the bottle upon opening, it’s dark mahogany and the head is loose. The mouthfeel is very carbonated and soda-like. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel and the flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, caramel, raisin and a light, citrussy bitterness. Not bad, not good - just very average.
