This one has surpassed it. If it weren’t for the price and the alcohol I would have dumped it. The flavor is very powerful with spices like cinnamon and clove. It is a very thick, filling beer that just sits in the stomach. I wouldn’t have another. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 26, 2006 Aroma is herbal with a dose of burnt rubber and licorice. Body is opaque light brown/orange with a thin, but firm tan head. Lots of herbal notes in the fore with a hefeweizen mouthfeel and hints of sweet cream, vanilla, licorice and caramel. But the whole thing is wrapped up in a rubbery over-flavor that I find very unpalatable. 505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA

Very interesting beer, with powerful aromas and flavors, although not all that pleasing. Props for being inventive though. Not the type of beer I want to buy a 6 of though. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Industrial root beer aroma with sassafras? Spice in it. Dark amber, fizzy top. Very potent spices, resetting palate flavour. Very refreshing effect. Strange brew with late vanilla. Darkover (1317), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Hazy amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of rootbeer and mostly mint. Tastes a little like rootbeer, but its more of a bitter minty flavor. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Doesn’t look like root beer as it is a light brown color, but it sure smells like root beer, more of the homemade variety than a commericialized type. Very little head. The aroma is dominated by sassafras, which is expected since thats what is advertised. Flavor is stong in sassafras and licorice. This beer is very different, which I give them kudos, but I can’t finish this one. MaBeer1972 (421), Leominster, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 23, 2006 This is really funky stuff! I love root beer, but this stuff is pushing the boundaries of what I know as beer. The aromas are pungent. Flavors are a dynamic mix of herbs and spices. Very fun to try new things, but unlike the ginger lemon brew in this package, I don’t think I would want to drink this again. argo0 (7041), Washington DC, USA
