Samuel Adams Alpine Spring is yet another addition to the brewery’s Small Batch series. For this entry, Sammy & Co used the more traditional labeling. Starting in late October, you’ll see the first of the Small Batch hit the market – Tasman Red, Third Voyage, Griffin’s Bow, The Vixen. (Vixen just won GABF gold.) This unfiltered lager is perfect for spring. Noble Tettnang hops, grown in the foothills of the Alps, give the brew a bright citrus and floral aroma flavor. These are balanced by the slightly sweet crisp notes of two-row pale and honey malts. Cheers! Note - LCBO beer called Samuel Adams Spring Lager is the same product as this

There’s an odd viscosity in Sam Adams beers that I don’t like. The hops are noble and decent aroma. Nothing like the germans

12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack. Nice, herbal, grassy aroma with plenty of biscuity notes present. Some lemon is also detected. A really quaffable beer. Mildly hazy yellow-golden body with a small, whitish head. Fairly quickly dissipating. Starts a little spicy and herbal, before there are lots of biscuity and doughy malts in the middle. Almost a weird fruity estery follows. Finishes with some grassy, mild herbal spiciness. I was hoping for better, but this beer just seems to not flow as much as I would like. Seems a little heavy on the body.

Bottle, this beer poured orange into the glass with some amber and yellow colors with a haze, and gave a more than one finger white head that receded to a see through cover, a few small mounds of gurgling bubbles and ring, the effervescence looked light in the glass, the beer left some spots and rings of lacing on the glass as I drank, bottle had a very thin film of lose clinging sediment, there were aromas of bread malt, a little lemon skin citrus with field flowers, earth malt and faint toasted malt with bread and honey sweetness, the flavors were bright lemon citrus with bread and earthy malt, some hop bitterness at the finish and malt flavor following, mouth feel was a little less than medium, a nice drink.

Another winner from Sam Adams. Hazy gold body topped by a clinging off-white head. The aroma is light but inviting. Sweet malt with a nice touch of spice. The palate is relatively light and smooth. The flavor pretty much matches the aroma. A sweet entry of malt is slowly replaced by a citrus and spice bite. Very enjoyable.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Very surprised by the good quality flavor in this one. Good hop presence in both the flavor and aroma. Slightly citrusy and very easy to drink. Overall good in my book

12oz bottle. Yellow pour, slightly hazy. Thick white head, decent lace. Aroma has a fresh brew scent. Distant citrus hops and a small amount of straw malts in the nose, with a touch of honey. Tastes crisp, lemonade essence, straw malts, slightly sweet honey character. Sticky body, easy to sip. Very simple. It is a good beer to pick up if your are looking for something different this Spring.

Bottle. Pours golden amber with a haze and white head. Aroma of lager esters and spice. Lighter side of medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice pale and honey malt backdrop with a hint of biscuit, countered by citrusy note and tamed spicy hops. Good but, lacks some oompf

Cloudy light yellow color with average head. Good mouth feel. Floral hops are very much in evidence.

Hazy orange-golden with a white head and some nice lacing. Aroma of bread, citrus, and flowers. Taste is slightly sweet honey and bready malt with mild citrus flavors and bitterness. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, refreshing, short finishing. Nice spring beer.

Pours a hazy yellow gold with an asserive full white head that lingers. Aroma is bread dough with a hint of citrus hops. Rich sweet pale malt and bisquit taste with just enough hoppiness to balance it out. Absolutely refreshing. A warm weather session beer!
