COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams New World Tripel: Pale gold in color, this ale is big, flavorful and complex. A special Belgian yeast strain adds tropical fruit and spice notes to the crisp dry ale, while Saaz hops add a subtle herbal note.

Pours a hazy deep gold with a huge rocky white head. Sweet candy-like aroma. Spicy fruit flavors, orange, candy, pepper, and lemon notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and warming. The high level of carbonation leads to a dry finish. An impressive tripel that is complex and full of flavor.

The appearance has a hazy golden colored body that yields a fairly large head for a tripel, solid fast rising carbonation is seen coming to the surface to keep the head alive. Some nice concave lacing clings to the sides of the chalice. After letting it warm a bit to the suggested temperature, the earthy tones of coriander, wheat, clove and grass with some nice sweet lightness of pear make their presence in the smell. The obvious Belgian yeast is there as well. The taste has sweet undertones of the pear to combine nicely with the previously mentioned earthy tones. A slight peppery taste comes out perhaps due to the coriander. The palate sits about a medium on the body with a ton of harshness on the tongue, perhaps to be expected due to the carbonation seen rising. Though a high ABV, the alcohol wasn’t smelled or tasted throughout the beer. I would say this isn’t exactly very drinkable. Overall, well, I believe my palate is wrecked after this bad boy. Though I’m not a super big fan of tripels, I would say this is pretty good. I’m not sure if this can be found on tap anywhere, but I’m pretty sure that’s what I would pursue to have this again.

3 Pack from the LCBO with Samuel Adams (Barrel Room Collection) New World Tripel Samuel Adams (Barrel Room Collection) Tetravis and the Samuel Adams (Barrel Room Collection) Thirteenth Hour Stout I was expecting more from these for the $40 price for the 3 but having said that I probably had too many beers the day i sampled these:) And they were all pretty descent beers

Some time back we had a number of visitors staying with us. For fun, they took turns going out and picking up varieties of beer. I kept notes about what we thought about each, but can not find them anywhere. I did find a bag of empties from that time period, so thought I would at least record those w/o commet and ratings from memory. This is one of those. (When I do find the notes it will be interesting to see how close I came)

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2014 Bronze in color with 2" of moussy white head. Aroma of pear esters with light sulfur, and a gingery spice. Taste is of a rich bready character with powerful alcoholic apple wine qualities and a bit of vanilla in butter. $7·5/750

Pours a slight hazy amber with two fingers of lasting head. Aroma is full of tropical fruit notes such as peaches, pineapple, bananas, and a slight sour aroma as well. You pick up less fruit and more floral notes on the palate. Very resinous mouth feel that almost seems to stick to the mouth. Yeast flavors are prominent with an almost caramel note that is detected. Flavors are difficult to extract as it all blends extremely well. Very interesting and good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Delicious beer! Banana/apricot/citrus nose, and hits on every expectation I have of Belgian style beers.
