Samuel Adams New World Tripel: Pale gold in color, this ale is big, flavorful and complex. A special Belgian yeast strain adds tropical fruit and spice notes to the crisp dry ale, while Saaz hops add a subtle herbal note.

How many characters does one need for "eh?" Underwhelming tripel with nice appearance but fails to deliver on taste. Thin.

25.4oz corked bottle - pours slightly hazy golden orange with three fingers of offwhite head. Nose is spicy and yeasty - reminds me of la Fin du Monde. Flavor adds bread and peels from some citrus fruit. sweet. Canít really detect the booze in here. A good example of the style but this leaves a weird aftertaste which is probably from the oak barrels. A great value. Very carbonated at first but so-so as it warmed.

Ok. Hazy amber with white head. Aroma is bounce dryer sheet. Taste is apple juice with bounce dryer sheet. I like bounce dryer sheets, but...

Part of a 750 ml bottle from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. GUSHER.

App.: Amber with some floaties and a small white head. Aroma: Very sweet, some earthy and citrusy coriander, light pome fruit, a little grassy hops, some light yeast, a bit of alcohol, sweet honey and biscuit. Palate: Medium+ body, full, creamy effervescence. Flav.: Alcohol and old apple juice, some orange peel, a touch of yeast, more alcohol, slightly spicy, biscuit, honey; sweet with low bitterness, plenty of alcohol and a very sweet, fruity finish.

Not really a success for my palate. Regret opening the bottle...

Bottle with @beerapostle, thanks for the pour! Really solid style tripple style, nice aging mellows the abbey a little, and for 10% it is very balanced. Good palate, nice spice!

Poured into a snifter out of a 750ml bottle. Pours a fairly hazy dark gold with a fluffy white head. Outstanding head retention and good lacing to boot. Looks like a well crafted Tripel. Tons of fruity Belgian yeasty goodness. Clove is huge with underlying banana, mango, and other tropical fruits. Almost an overripe citrus note. Iím not detecting the slightest bit of oak but rather just the aroma of a great Tripel. The flavor is not quite as impressive as the aroma but still packs a decent punch. Banana and clove are prominent while the other fruit characters take a back seat. Again no oak. A little bit of alcohol comes through and some sweetness which is a little out of place for the style. The mouthfeel is a little on the heavy side and I donít care for the sticky finish. A quick breath of alcohol to finish it out. Overall, a decent Tripel for the price cosidering I got it for $6.49 on sale. Not quite as good as its Belgian-made counterparts but it stands up well.

Aroma of tropical fruit, spice, pepper, Belgian yeast, and the slightest hint of funk. Pours a light amber with a mostly diminishing rocky white head and spotty lacing. The taste was surprisingly good (light sweet and spice) and just keeps coming long after you swallow. Medium-light body and carbonation. Mouthfeel is crisp and spicy. Oveall, a nice Tripel. Would drink again.

Gold to deep gold in color. Slight banana in aroma with some pale malt characteristics. Yeast contributions dominate aroma. Thick white head, good retention. Medium light body. Banana and clove carry into flavor. Higher carbonation adds crispness to beer. Some alcohol warming present on palate and in the back end of flavor. Very refreshing. Very slight hop flavor present.
