Samuel Adams New World Tripel: Pale gold in color, this ale is big, flavorful and complex. A special Belgian yeast strain adds tropical fruit and spice notes to the crisp dry ale, while Saaz hops add a subtle herbal note.

This is by far one of the best tripels I’ve tasted in a long time! This beer is extremely delicious! It pours a light golden color with a huge, soft white head. The head laces very nicely around the inside of the glass. The nose features some herbs, hops, bananas, bubble gum and yeast. This beer is full-bodied and thick! The flavors are very well-balanced, with sweet maltiness and lightly spicy hops. Some of the bubble gum, yeast and banana shows through toward the finish and in the aftertaste.

Draft at The Pine Box, Seattle. Orange, foamy white head. clove, peppercorn. Rich American tripel style. Strong ale with "belgian" peppery yeast notes. Popcorn sweetness. Alright overall, but a bit of a mess.

Bottle. Poured a golden color with a white head. Aromas of yeast, spices, some grassiness, and lighter fruits. Tastes of yeast, spices, fruity, and some candi sugar. Overall alcohol content well hidden.

Cool bottle; poured an orange/caramel color with a big frothy head. Darker than expected. Aroma was boozy; yeast, banana, alcohol, fruit, earth, herbs, and perhaps a touch of oak. Flavor was pretty boozy; a bit funky; yeasty and herbal; some spice Fruitiness throughout. A good beer, but not really what I look for in a Tripel.

Pours a hazy orangey gold with a moderate white head with big bubbles. Aroma is pretty complex with notes of pepper, hay, champagne, slight bready malt, and slight wood. Flavors of earth, bread, slight white chocolate, champagne, hay, pepper, citrus, and a slight funk. It certainly does a lot in a sip! Finishes with little bitterness, but the flavors of damp earth, grass, pepper, citrus, and wood are all very pleasant. If there’s a brett or sour influence, it’s only VERY slight here, used sparingly like a spice. And despite the nice looking pour, the carbonation feels fake and uncreamy, making for a prickly mouthfeel. Good beer overall though, this series of beers doesn’t disappoint.

Deep gold, fluffy white head. Nose is yeasty soft fruit. Sweet and bitter both pull on the tongue. Middle is alcohol, caramel, bananas. Alcohol is predominate out the back. Seems to be missing something, but still interesting.

Pours a dark golden color with a large foamy off white head. Notes of caramel, fresh grass, ammonia hops, and baked bread. Nice balanced tripel.

750 ml bottle into chalice, 2012 vintage. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 1-2 finger fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice foamy lacing clings to the glass, with a nice amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of banana, lemon, pear, pepper, clove, floral, earth, candi sugar, oak, light bubblegum, and yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity; very inviting. Taste of apple, pear, banana, pineapple, pepper, clove, bubblegum, earth, floral, oak, candi sugar, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, pepper, clove, bubblegum, floral, herbal, earth, and yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of flavors, with a nice malt/spiciness balance; and zero cloying flavors present on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly slick, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent tripel style. Very nice flavor complexity and balance; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

Pours a hazy golden color. Smells of spices, yeast, and tropical fruit. Nice foamy, slowly dissipating head with slight lacing. Taste is of spiciness at beginning and end, mixed with fruits. Particularly banana and guava. Clean finish. Pretty tasty.
