Samuel Adams New World Tripel: Pale gold in color, this ale is big, flavorful and complex. A special Belgian yeast strain adds tropical fruit and spice notes to the crisp dry ale, while Saaz hops add a subtle herbal note.

Not a huge fan of Trippels but this one had me going. Good alcohol content and a big amount of hops.

Cool, unique 25.4 oz bottle; kind of looks like a barrel. Misty orange brown with a clingy white head. Nose is bubblegum, clove, vanilla and candied lemon peel. Oily medium body with a sting and a dull buzz, finishing with a dry clench. Taste is dried pineapple, grass, yeast and apricot. Not bad, a bit messy, but does avoid some of the perfume, cloying or plastic notes of many tripels.

The aroma is funky with fruit, yeast, metal, malt and herbs. The appearance is orange gold with a large head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall this is a decent beer.

750 ml bottle from Beverage House (S.V.) - Pours a clear light golden color with a huge ass four finger thick off white head that took its sweet ass time to settle. Light layered lacing. Light carbonation for the huge head. Aroma is spice and esters. Flavor is sweet fruity esters, light yeast, spice, faint oak, and light herbal hops. Medium to full body. Donít like the lingering aftertaste. Alcohol isnít too noticeable. Very little barrel presences. An OK beer. Just wish I didnít have to drink a 750 of it.

Poured clear, gold colored with a slight orange hue. Big fluffy white head that dissipated and left a few lines of lacing. The aroma was fairly light, but had notes of tropical fruit and spices. The taste was pretty complex, with tropical fruit, banana, cloves, spices. If it stopped there, itís a pretty good Tripel. But thereís another layer of earthy, funky sourness that I wasnít expecting. This was a pleasant surprise from Sam Adams.

A very good looking pour. Nice and clear. Big head that doesnt last. Aroma made up of spice, bannana, Belgian yeast. High carbonation. Lightly sweet. Taste and aroma are pretty much the same. A very good Tripel.

Citrus and barnyard aroma. Hazy golden color with a large white head. Light beginning with a sharp bitter finish.

On draft at GABF 2012. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is yeast, banana, pepper, apple, wood, and vanilla. Flavor follows: big wood, sweet malt, peppery yeast, and some wood and vanilla. Medium in body and an interesting tripel overall.
