3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Pours a muddy brown/dark red color with minimal head. Aroma is rich with fruity and woody notes. A little spicey and vinous too. Much more vinous in the taste, along with plenty of sour and tart. A bit fruity, wood, just a little earthy, and quite dry. This is a solid offering in the style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the barrel shaped corked, caged bottle. The pour is a slightly cloudy brown color with a modest little cream colored head. Good sour and wild characteristics on the nose with a bready malt sensation and a kind of wine-line ester. Yeast notes. Vague spice notes. Smells tart. Light to medium body. The taste has a modest malted bready flavor at first but it does not take long for the tart, grape and citrus zing to kick in. But at the same time I pick up a touch of clove more in the taste rather than the nose. Interesting all around.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I am fairly new to wild sours, but I enjoyed this one. Readily available, somewhat pricey, but overall a nice beer. Pours a murky brown, with a lively brown head. Funk, tart, sour, malt, and wood coming thru on the taste. Enjoyable brew!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Funky fruity aroma. Dark cola appearance and lightly carbonated. Sour taste in a tangy way. Very much reminds me of a flat cherry cola actually tasty in a sweet and sour way.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. More of a sour so no lacing head etc. aroma is mild. I'd say its something to start with. To introduce someone to sour/tart like beers.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Spicy, slightly phenolic and boozy nose. Slightly opaque ruby colour. Taste is slightly sour, but lacking a strong lactic component. The last bottle I had was much better, with more sourness - consistency issues?

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2014 Bottle: Muddy brown & opaque with the slightest hint of red to it, capped off with a beige head that reduces quickly to a thin film & collar. Aroma is quite vinous & vinegary. Notes of toasty oak, grape, light cider vinegar, tart apples, & some musty cellar floor in the periphery. Even a little hint of cocoa underneath? Taste is not as tart as the aroma suggests. Lots of spicy oak, red apples, wine-like grape notes, a little raisin, some caramel malt underneath, & a dry finish with a big tannic note. Some mustiness in the aftertaste, too. Not up to par with some other American wild ales, but still quite tasty, & one of the better Sam Adams beers I’ve had.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a clear ruby red body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a thin covering. The nose is pretty nice, it hits all the hallmarks of a Flemish Red. A nice sour/sweet balance, a light oakiness, some nice sour cherry like fruitiness, slight balsamic vinegar like acidity, and some light alcohol. The flavor is quite a bit drier than I was expecting, there’s minimal residual sugar in here, and very little acidity. I was expecting a really sweet and slightly acidic Flemish Red, but I guess this is indeed more of an American Wild. Some nice caramel malt at it’s base with a slight cherry like fruitiness and a light oakiness. It’s really a lot more drinkable than I was expecting. The alcohol is completely hidden in this one, I would have never guessed this was 9% ABV. Medium bodied and just slightly heavy on the tongue with minimal soft carbonation. This was quite a bit better than I was expecting. Very easy drinking.
