1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Shared at the local homebrew Christmas party. Dark pour with a tan head. Aroma is a weird funk and maybe some chocolate. Definitely burned aromas. Taste is woody, sour, awkward fruit, and roasted grains. Terrible finish. Weird beer.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber with a small beige head that lasts awhile. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet raisin malt and light roast with sweet finish. A good Imperial stout,

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Okay, first off this is not a stout. It’s a sour with stout/chocolate sweet notes,
Aroma is of dates/cherries, chocolate, with a note of medium roast coffee. Definitely strong on the dried fruit. I feel like this is primarily a Belgian style ale with notes of a stout. All of the flavors they describe are there. This tastes like sour chocolate. I love the aroma........

Sam Adams should do better. Given the cost of this beer was expecting something not so shallow and without flavor. This is like drinking Storm King when mixed with water. Very sub par beer. Shame on you Sam Adams.

Bomber into pint glass.
A: Dark brown with reddish edges. A little bit of light pass through and a light tan head.
S: Weak aroma of rum raisin, toffee, coffee, and chocolate. Light fruit notes, dates or tart cherries.
T: Deep sweet barleywine with a presence of alcohol, chocolate, cherry or cranberry, and a bit of metallic oak.
M: Medium carbonation gets flushed out by the tart, sweet attack of the fruit. The fruit lingers long after the chocolate leaves.
O: less sweet than the criminally bad elf (recent tried). A decent barleywine but sweeter than I would have liked. Would do again at 9% though.
