Bottle from local store. Nice dark color. Oak, molasses and chocolate. Mouthfeel was a bit thin to me along with carbonation. It was bad, just different than other imply stouts. Alcohol was hidden. Bitter aftertaste

Sampled from the bottle at the Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival. Pours a clear dark amber brown with a yellowish brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a decent amount of roasted malts with some chocolate and dark grains. Flavor has notes of dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of dark fruit.

Samuel Adams Thirteenth Hour has a very thick, spongy, tan head, and a fiercely bubbly, dark brown, almost black, appearance, with good lacing left behind. The aroma is of mild coffee and chocolate, black licorice, dried light fruit, golden raisen, mild oak, and dark-roasted malt. Taste is of those elements, with an odd canned spaghetti sauce or tomato sauce acidity. Bittterness is almost not detected. Some candy sugar and spiced holiday bread or cake is picked up. Mouthfeel is medium, and Samuel Adams Thirteenth Hour finishes spritzy and not so much like a stout at all. RJT

Bottle, 75cl corked. A dark brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Perhaps a bit weak aroma, with raisins, dried figs, some chocolate and roasted malts. Some funky, spiced notes too. It’s full-bodied, soft and lightly warming on the palate, with flavors of raisins, dried figs, some brown sugar and roasted malts, and a little touch of chocolate. Nice carbonation level and bitterness that suits the sweetness. Lasting finish. Perhaps a bit too subtle this one, but at least it drinks easy. 150612

Countbeer (5264) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 6, 2015
Bottle: Chouffe glass: Deep dark brown beer. Creamy head on top. Aroma is spice, prunes, port, some used port/vinous wood tones, raisin, something sweet I can’t lay my finger on. Flavours of prunes, bitters, toast, dried leaves, spice, nuts, light dry, dried dark fruit, hint of wood... Aftertaste, wood, malt, toast, light prune and bitter tint. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. Bit boring and miss some soul. Also a bit unbalanced.

Wow, very good. Although it tastes nothing like a traditional stout. ............................. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark mahogany with a foamy, long-lasting tan head. Aroma is dark fruits, Belgian yeast, and spice. Flavor is lots of dark fruit and Belgian yeast. Begins sweet, but the finish is a touch tart. Nothing about this, except the color, is like a stout. I would call it a Belgian strong, but nonetheless it tastes good.

Poured a copper to brown colour with an off white head. Aroma is a bit sour with dark fruits and spice. Flavor is dark fruits, coffee, sour yeast, and woody vanilla. Is an interesting blend of belgian dark and Flanders brune.
