Yummy! I look forward to the Sam Adams Winter Seasonals collection every year and this is one which really surprised me when I first tried it. It pours with a fairly dark color and a rust colored head. The coffee taste hits you almost right away. As I am not a coffee person unless it is good coffee, let me tell you, this tastes like good coffee. An excellent desert beer and arguably my favorite Sam Adams.

(out of a 12 oz bottle) pours very dark with a finger length tan head. Smells heavily of mocha and coffee. Tastes literally like sweetened coffee mixed with melted chocolate -- absolutely delicious. In my opinion the most wonderful tasting Sam Adams beer ever. A great dessert beer for sure..

If blindfolded, you would smell the beer and think it was a Starbucks. Medium mouthfeel. Starts chocolaty and then comes the coffee. Bittersweet. I was pleasantly surprised as this came as part of a mixed winter 12-pack from Sam Adams. Exceeded my expectations on International Stout Day!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a damn decent coffee stout from Sam Adams. Itís a nice dark brew w/ a thin but long lasting head of fine bubbles. The coffee flavor isnít at all overbearing but definitely there. The nose is quite mild but the flavor is somewhat creamy w/o being sweet. Overall, Iíd put this somewhat it the realm of a dry stout or a porter but w/ pronounced coffee tones. It works well and is very drinkalbe while still being flavorful. I got this in the seasonal sampler but I could definitely see myself buying it by the six pack.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from a sampler. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Average head retention. Aroma of coffee, milk, toasted malts and a bit of roast. The taste is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and bitter hops in the finish. A faint banana-like fruitiness. Medium bodied.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Picked up single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a creamy beige head that quickly dissipates to a film top and thin beige ring. Aroma of milk chocolate, toasted black malt, some coffee and a hint of vanilla. Taste is medium bodied, more distinct coffee flavor than its aroma with additional flavors of toasted chocolate malt, and some mild floral hops. Finish is a little chalky, some coffee aftertaste and mild bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Flavor first hits like black coffee but then mellows out to some dark chocolate. Flavor also has some creamed/roasted properties to it. I really like this beer! Aftertaste is a bit weak to me and tastes watery, otherwise this is a solid beer! 5.8% alcohol.
