3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 FriskyRob (2) - - APR 29, 2012 does not count
One of my favorite basic beers. It's has a slight head, great color and a solid aroma. I wish the head an lace were better. Taste is mildly complex, drink like it looks, full flavored and hardy. The texture is so so but overall a great drinkable brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scrapersnbeer (435) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 23, 2012
Aroma of roast chocolate malt and toffee. Dark brown look, but not black bt any means. Chocolate and coffee flavors are very strong and lingering. Very minor bitter contrast, which works well for this beer. Medium body which is very approachable and easy to drink. A schwarz with porterish ambitions.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kjohns (109) - North Dakota, USA - APR 19, 2012
Deep dark reddish-brown almost black pour with thin light tan head. Aroma is a bit light, chocolate or toffee and some light roasted malt. Taste is quite malty as well. Slighty bitter coffee or chocolate flavor with some bready notes. Nothing special, but definitely not a horrible brew by any means either.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jfenglish (355) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 16, 2012
Bottle. Overall a very solid, satisfying beer. Body is rich, nutty, with cocoa powder and coffee beans. Lingering lightly smoky finish. In a blind tasting I bet this one does twice as well if one didn’t know it was Sam Adams.
