Dark clear brown, with tinge of ruby. Small thin beige head. Roasty, coffee nose. Burnt grain, salty, dark bread, neat, mellow body, rather drinkable. Finish with slight coffee like bitterness, salty, well rounded. Quite quaffable.

Looks like this was bottled on 1-7-05(best before july of 05) The aroma(and overall quality) is like a lighter version of their cream stout.Roasty, some coffee, and has an overall creamy quality. Sam adams comes through with the notch above middle of the road consistently. They pump out so many many barrels and still they remain a solid brew. The medium palate has a bit of spicy hop/carbonation.They need a good hard pour.Good tan head, this stuff almost appears garnet/red.Good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Coffee, roasted chocolate malts in the nose as well. Pleasant aroma. Pours moderately to mostly hazy mahogany with a nice long lasting light tan head. Very roasty smooth malty notes throughout with a sweet coffee cappucinno notes at the end. A little thick for the style. Somewhat stout-like. Good work for a macro...

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black, with burgundy hi-lites, thin beige head. No aroma to speak of. Nicely rich, milky and bready, with a nice hop finish. Slighty notes of coffee. Nicely tasty. Found in a "Brewmasters Series" mix pack.

Mmmmm. Yummy yum yum. Great stuff. Not out yet, coming out in Jan 2005. Dark, complex coffee and chocolate flavors. Nice and easy to drink, though. Great from start to finish. Can’t wait for it to hit the streets.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the Sam Adams brewery in Boston. This beer is not yet available and will be out in bottles only starting in January of 2005. Beautiful black color with a hint of amber coloring in the edges. Nice thick head and it had a faint coffee aroma. Somewhat fizzy mouthfeel and a nice coffee flavor that had an excellent mouthfeel...not too thick, not too watery, it was just right. Great stuff!
