Feb 15, 2008 Bottle. Nice deep brown color that appears black with a decent beige head. Aroma of some chocolate and a hint of roastiness. Light chocolate and caramel are the central flavors, some slight roastiness peaks through in the finish, but now much. A bit thin, but I am used to heavy imperial stouts, so it probably isn’t as thin as it seems. Still a pretty nice beer that I can enjoy.

Feb 14, 2008 Chocolate/coffee on the nose. Dark brown/black. Seems a little off balance...could use some more malt. Palate was thin, nice carbonation, seemed nitrogen like (similar to their Scotch Ale). Not very remarkable.

Feb 12, 2008 Rich flavor of both chocolate and caramel is noticable on both the nose and the tongue. This beer has a malty roast that adds depth. It possesses an all day drinkability, though not really heavy enough to be a sipper.

Feb 6, 2008 Smells lightly floral with a malt overtone. Pours a deep brown almost black color, with a medium tan head that fades slowly. Tastes watery and light at the start followed by hints of chocolate and ending in its full flavor of toasted malts. Lightly carbonated with a smooth mouthfeel. Tasty in a pinch but nothing to write home about.
