COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The blackberries we use in Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier are perfect for this brew. They deliver a subtle sweetness that balances the traditional citrus flavors from the witbier. The blackberries used in Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier are sourced from family farms, located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for centuries. By bringing the blackberries, orange and coriander together with an appealing malt character and a spiciness from the hops, we’ve brewed a flavorful beer with a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart. Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier is brewed with two-row Harrington and Metcalfe malted barley and generous portions of malted wheat. The malted barley and malted wheat provide the beer with its light body while the coriander and orange give the beer its citrus like aromas. We’ve also added some Oregon Marion blackberries, to give the brew a perfect balance between its subtly sweet and tart flavors.

Pours coppery in color with a thin off white head. Smells of sour fruit and bread. Tastes wheaty, fruity, sweet, and tart. The finish is a little bitter and dry. I can’t really say that its a whole lot like blackberry, but it has the taste of any fermented dark berry. However, its pretty drinkable and refreshing.

meh, something about fruit beers just never seem right to me, This one had good colorto it a nice cloudy amber hue, it was missing a head though. Aroma was of mild wheat notes and some fruitiness to it. Flavor was similarit needed to be less of a fruit note and more wheat notes. Carbonation was present other than that palate was marginal.

Terrible smell, decent color of light brown with slight purple hint. Flavor of your typical wheat beer (besides hefeweizens, not many plain old wheat beers exist). Fruit flavor is almost nonexistent. Not much different from water. I just don’t see the point of drinking this....10 minutes later...I guess there is some fruitiness to it, but nowhere near that of the incidental banana taste of a meaty hefeweizen. Finishing the bottle will make you a little happier, but you will get that knot in your chest from too much starch.

Poured a gold amber with a bubbly white head. Thin bodied with a pretty simple taste. Apricot and blackberries with lots of carbonation. Tasted more like grape soda than beer, but still refreshing. Not bad.

Pours a really nice looking orange/gold color with a white head. Aroma is blackbery through and through. Maybe a little artificial, but close enough to the real thing not to be off-putting. Flavor was berry with a nice wheat beer background. A little biscuity. Kind of like warm biscuits and jam. Pretty decent beer.

I got his one on accident while at a tasting. The body was a cloudy dark gold with a white head. The aroma was blackberries with some bread crust. The taste was orange peels and coriander with some light fruit. Decent overall.

Something not quite right here. The balckberry smells and tastes vaguely artificial, and the wit part lacks crispness or somethig. Not particularly good.

Not a big fan of this at all. Thin, brackish with an artificial berry flavor. Maybe something for a hot summer day or a chick beer. Meh.

Poured golden with a small, white head. Hoppy aroma with a fruity taste straight away. Not something I will drink again.

Pours a medium pale gold with a fluffy 1 finger eggshell head that has really good retention even leaving a little lacing. Aroma is fresh blackberry, biscuit, subtle fruity ester like notes. Flavor is biscuity, grainy, a little peppery, straw and some crisp floral notes. Finish is berries, a little grainy, and peppery. Would be much nicer with warmer weather.
