2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours foggy gold with a white head. Berry sweet aroma with a hint of spice. The body is rather thin, and the flavor is rather one dimensional, berry sweetness on top or a malt base. Not awful.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Interesting copper-bronze color on this, with a slight haze. The berry aroma wafts quite a distant. Drinks with a bit of a creamy consistency, but the berry character kinda comes off a little, well, off ... I gotta agree with earlier raters, this comes across with more of a blueberry than blackberry flavor, but instead of being fruity, itís almost funky. Still quite drinkable alternative for a hot day or with a nice berry-based dessert. (#3649, 8/23/2009)

pours a straight golden maple colour .. medium head pool, with some good lacing .. plastikman on the stereo .. berry cough syrup smell ... low self-esteem? calling card? of course not ...How did this win? the coffee beer must have been just terrible because this is nice and very drinkable but a waste of a brewmaster selection spot and a very forgettable brew ... is easy to put down but that fake aftertaste is just not where itís at .... i have the absolute respect and praise for Sam Adams but this was just silly, not serious, and utterly forgettable! Come on UNITED!!! tomo @ west ham ...

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz. bottle from Binnyís Beverage Depot in Orland Park, IL: This poured a slightly hazed bronze body with a three-fingered head. The aroma was of dusty blackberrys. The flavor had a bready wheat malt base, but the berries, orange peel, and coriander clashed in a none too pleasant way. The finish was dry with an herbal bitterness. Iím glad it was only one bottle.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled on 3/19/2009. This fruit beer pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium to small sized white foamy head. The aroma is blackberry and wheat, with the fruit aroma dying fairly quickly. A medium bodied fruit wheat. The malts are caramel and fruity. Lots of blackberry flavors, but has that artificial extract kind of flavor to it. The hops are mild and earthy. Itís not really a fruit beer and not really a wit, but sort of that weird mashup that some brewers do sometimes. Good carbonation. Nice balance. Drinkable, but I will take a pass on this one in the futiure. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Yellowish orange pour, white head. Aroma is berries, touch of bread, maybe a bit of wheat? Taste is like many have said, berry soda into beer. Tried it once, and never want it again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle from the Bayou. Pours a bright orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet berries and malts, light spices. The flavor was nice; easygoing spices and light malts, sweet honey flavors, a importantly a natural tasting berry component. Actually a nice brew.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The beer pours a hazy golden-orange color with a white head. The aroma has a little bit of wheat, but what is really standing out is a very sweet blackberry component. The flavor is also full of extremely sweet, and somewhat cloying, blackberry fruit notes. There is some wheat, and maybe a hint of coriander, but the fruit is front and center. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
BOTTLE: pale gold pour, very nice fruit and spice nose. The blackberry comes through on taste, but then this beer just dies.
