COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The blackberries we use in Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier are perfect for this brew. They deliver a subtle sweetness that balances the traditional citrus flavors from the witbier. The blackberries used in Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier are sourced from family farms, located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for centuries. By bringing the blackberries, orange and coriander together with an appealing malt character and a spiciness from the hops, we’ve brewed a flavorful beer with a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart. Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier is brewed with two-row Harrington and Metcalfe malted barley and generous portions of malted wheat. The malted barley and malted wheat provide the beer with its light body while the coriander and orange give the beer its citrus like aromas. We’ve also added some Oregon Marion blackberries, to give the brew a perfect balance between its subtly sweet and tart flavors.

I am surprised this beer has such a low rating from others. It’s very refreshing, light and a good beer. I would drink this all summer! The berry flavor is subtle and good.

Great fruit beer. Pours a hazy golden hue into the glass with a small white head. Aromas of blackberries and fruit with some coriander and yeast. Nice refreshing mouth feel to it. Good malty backbone. The blackberries are in no way overpowering. They offer a nice flair in the background that shines through in the finish. Very refreshing, I’ll be buying this one again.

I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. I am not a fan of SA’s Cranberry or Cherry beers. I was hesitant to try this because of that. It has a good witbier taste with a hint of blackberry. I recommend this new one from SA.

Another great Samuel Adams wheat beer. I discovered it in a multi-pack and have since purchase several 6-packs of it. The flavor could be a little more intense without being obnoxious, but another great beer.

really enjoyed this brew, strong aroma, imemdiately hit me with Blackberry flavor...not just a hint but a nice punch! A nice surprise after the overly pungent SA Cherry Wheat tasting. BB Witbier however seems more suited for a seasonal winter brew accompanying Oktoberfest, not sure why it was offered all summer long in local stores.

Fruity raspberry taste. Nose is more of the same. It’s as advertised. I thought it went down very nicely. Rated 4/5/10

Slightly sweet smell. Light hazy color. Sweet berry taste up front and finish. Not over bearingly sweet. Perfect blend. You can taste both the witbier flavor through the berry. Good for anytime of the year and good with almost anything... booyaa

Not up to their cherry or cranberry wheats, it doesn’t taste as subtle. A little syrupy. but I do like it. It’s very drinkable and refreshing. The aroma is very nice and I feel blackberrys are easy to detect. The color is a little boring, still for all it’s drawbacks I still think it’s a decent drink.
