Commercial Description:
The blackberries we use in Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier are perfect for this brew. They deliver a subtle sweetness that balances the traditional citrus flavors from the witbier. The blackberries used in Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier are sourced from family farms, located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for centuries. By bringing the blackberries, orange and coriander together with an appealing malt character and a spiciness from the hops, we’ve brewed a flavorful beer with a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart. Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier is brewed with two-row Harrington and Metcalfe malted barley and generous portions of malted wheat. The malted barley and malted wheat provide the beer with its light body while the coriander and orange give the beer its citrus like aromas. We’ve also added some Oregon Marion blackberries, to give the brew a perfect balance between its subtly sweet and tart flavors.

from notes: Hazy golden body with lasting white head. Dark berry aroma, wet cardboard and a cellar. Flavour has same, but more berries added. Smooth and ok mouthfeel. Just another fruit beer that is unnecessary.

This witbier poured a slightly cloudy, light yellow colour with a quickly living, bright white, rocky head. To the nose there are scents of jam, perfume, hairspray and dough. First taste was smooth and full of Blackberry flavour. The body was a little watery but with a fruit beer that might not be a bad thing since if it had a thick mouthfeel it would probably more like liquid jam. Quite sweet with a perfume after taste. Finish is syrupy sweet with the berry and hairspray flavour lingering.

Refrigerated bottle. The witbier seems to be good by itself. Then the blackbery just seems out of place. Good overall, but I would like to taste the witbier without the blackberry.

Local bottle. Okay but nothing special. Decent witbier but seemed a little disjointed with the berry flavours added. Honestly thought a fair amount of the blackberry influence seemed more like blueberries to me...probably just me though.

Hazy golden with some floaties, lasting off white head. Aroma of light blackberry, some light pale malt. Taste: mild blackberry, some light wheat, overall clean and light bodied, easy drinking.

Quite fruity aroma, like a mix of blueberry and strawberry. Lots of wheat too. Flavor is a light fruit wheat, but is actually pretty tasty. Good with food.

Very nice fruit beer the blackberry smell and aftertaste is not overpowering, but is not very different from the cherry wheat offering in terms of quality.

12oz bottle from Walmart (yeah Walmart, I said it). hazy copper orange pour with a finger off-white head and a half-hearted sheet of bubbly lacing. aroma is grain, wheat, blackberry and spice. seems more blueberry-ish in the taste. with lemon and cloves. little aftertaste and almost no carbonation.
