COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Special - JD Wergerspoon festival, Autumn 2010.
Bert Boyce and Dan Melideo, from Sam Adams Brewery, have travelled to Shepherd Neame Brewery, in Kent, to create this beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. This very pale beer incorporates American intensity and English balance, showcasing East Kent-grown American Cascade hops – picked fresh from the field and in the brewery in a matter of hours. The result is an intense (yet soft) hop impression, moderate bitterness and fruity, complex character.

500ml bottle at home, from Morrisons, Castlehill Road, Ayr (bb 28 Feb 2017), oaty, grain aroma, golden with a negligible head, resin, grain, cereal flavour, gassy, mild traditional hop finish.

4.5% ABV 500ml bottle from Morrisons: shared with the wife in bright sunshine, at home on 20th April 2016. Pale golden pour with a full white head. Decent enough blend with the hops just about winning in both the aroma and taste stakes. Refreshing in the sun but not really flavoursome or interesting. Light citrus notes and a mild caramel base is all I could find.

Nice looking beer, paleish gold with a thin white head, nice lacework. Fresh citrus nose, light/medium in body, again fresh zesty flavours, light malt character. Nice beer if unexceptional!

500ml bottle from Morrison’s. Golden color with a white head, some lacing. Aroma is sweet lemon with caramel, biscuit and a hint of banana. Medium sweet, light to medium bitter. Viscous in the palate with some moderate carbonation. Good.

Bottle from Morrisons. Clear golden body with a medium white head. Lively carbonation. Dusty lacing. Aroma of green pepper, grapefruit and Rich Tea biscuit. Flavour of lemony hops, coriander and cereal. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Very clean and easy drinking.

Cask at Coachmakers, Hanley. Pours golden with white head. Quite a malt led golden ale, pleasant hop finish. OK.

Cask. Not at wetherspoons so it must have been successful enough to brew on a wider scale. Clear gold with a thick light tan head. Nose is grapefruit and lemon. Taste is zingy. Really bitter lemon. Some lime. A little watery and could do with a bit more balance. Just zingzingzing.

Oh SJ, you never cease to amaze me. Golden pour with a spice and fruit Aroma (Mostly peach). A straw, bread and spice flavor that is accompanied by some hop and fruit. Interesting.
