In Springfield. "Huh, blueberries." Was the reaction around the table. While seemingly well executed, blueberry beer I guess doesn't work for me personally. Serving: bottle

Grabbed a bottle of my brother inlaws beer. Pours gold with nose is blueberry candy. Tastes of blueberries, malt, some lemon, and perfume. Crisp and not too sweet.

As fruit beers go this one is a keeper. Gentle taste of real blueberries and a little bit of lemony tartness while retaining the character of an actual lager. Quite refreshing.

Sugary blueberry pie scent. Smooth lager, some dry bitterness and mild blueberry. More sugar note than fruit.

I like a fruit beer to taste like a fruit beer. And well this really has a fruity flavor. Aroma is almost artificial like. Taste is very berry. Beer is subtle. Decent mouthfeel. Sweetness is strong. Very nice.

Orange gold color with thin off-white head. Strong blueberry aroma. A little citrus in the flavor, but very much overpowered by the blueberries. Enough hops that you remember your drinking a beer.

Poured from bottle (dated best by Oct. 2013) into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a lightly hazed orange-amber color with a one finger thick white colored head. The head fades over a moderate level of time, leaving a good level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is massive of blueberries with it hitting the nose immediately after opening the bottle and being even more potent after pouring. This huge blueberry aroma is quite authentic smelling with a delicious fresh blueberry smell. Mixed with this aroma is a very light aroma of lemon and an almost pastry like smell overall producing a very tasty smelling brew.
Taste – The taste starts out with a big bready and light blueberry flavor upfront. Some other sweetness of a candied sugar taste joins the flavors upfront with a lemon flavor developing more as the flavor advances beyond the initial taste. While the lemon comes to the tongue, the blueberry flavors increase in intensity. In the end the blueberry gets somewhat potent, but dries out some and is joined by a slightly stale biscuit flavor leaving a blueberry and bready flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. A bit less body and more carbonation may have been better for all the blueberry flavor as it would have produced a more crisp and refreshing brew.
Overall – The look and aroma of the beer were quite awesome, but unfortunately the taste and flavor didn’t live up to the former. Even so it is still a decent blueberry lager and at least is one to try.

Sampled on 9/13/2014. This fruit beer pours a light to medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is blueberries, some malts and a touch of sweetness. A light to medium bodied fruit beer, The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and slightly piney. A lot of blueberry flavor in this one, good fruit flavors without a lot of sweetness. A touch of that lager spiciness/hoppiness. Good carbonation, Decent fruit beer, the fruit sort of dominates a little too much, but you can still tell it’s a beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, with some blueberry sweetness.

"Nice fresh blueberry aroma. Palate is a bit light. Flavor an ok mix of noble hops, grain and fruit. Not one ill likely get again, but not bad either."

I was looking forward to a Sam Adams blueberry style brew. My expectations did not quite meet reality. however, this is still a good beer to have during the warmer months. I poured this brew into a pint glass and the first impression was awesome; a great murky yellow color with a thin head. The aroma was definitely blueberry. I thought the overall taste was a little lacking. I would prefer a stronger blueberry flavor vice a hint of the berry that this brew delivers.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass
The color us a hazy orange with a finger of foamy white head and just the slightest of lacing left on the glass.
The smell has a nice blueberry aroma that also teases at a slight orange twang. Really fruity in the nose and promises some touches of raspberry or strawberry too.
The taste is blueberry right at the start with a crisp sweet malt that swings through the palette quickly without pushing off any berry flavor. Once things get toward the end the bitterness makes an appearance and hits leaving a slight smack on your tongue.
The feel is light with a great drinkable feel and makes for a good summer drinker. The crisp body carries some of the sweetness along and keeps things interesting.
