3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours dark amber with a nice thick head that settles as a thin layer over the beer. The aroma is yeasty fruity, not much of malt or hops there. The taste is an explosion of elements. First a sweet and sour fruity flow, a reminder of the aroma. Then as the sweetness settles, bitterness of varying kinds set in. Pine, tobacco, spices. It’s an entertaining beer, on the verge of being coyingly sweet it somehow manages to balance it all out with the fresh flow of bitterness. I know they call this beer an ale, but to me I would call it an hybrid lager-ale, much in the similar style of Anchor Steam, a continent across. Lovely.

Good all around beer. This is my standard go to beer when no craft brews are on sale.

A very sweet & clear beer with low carbonation, a thin, slightly off white head and faint floral & fruit aromas. Medium mouth feel with a lingering bitterness & caramel background. Finishes with a sweet and bitter bite.

Copenhagen 9/5 2015. 35,5 cl bottle from Kvickly. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with yellowish head. Quite persistent. I find the aroma a little sharp. Some sweetness as well with some caramel. Carbonation is soft. Flavour is malty sweet with notes of caramel and butterscotch. Only a light bitterness. Not what I expected from a beer from Samuel Adams but not bad at all.

Aroma of bready malt, caramel, butterscotch, perfumed notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light bitter finish. A bit too dull and malty to impress.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Average brew no infections or oddness as this company does well at preservation and stock rotation. Other than that orange color medium carbonation average malts and hops.
