3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle acquired at some point by commonshawn. Feels kind of like I’m in an airport bar. Looks very filtered and mass produced. Amber, burnt Sierra type color. Aroma has a bit of hop to it but is mostly an afterthought. Taste is actually a little better than I remember. Malts blend well with some hops. More sweetness than bitterness. Some caramel and a hint of roasted nuts. Ends with a kick of hop bitterness. I’m frustrated that they try to pass themselves off as a craft brewer but their flagship is drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottled 12/13/15
A: Clear pinkish gold pour with 1 finger of thick but diminishing head. Steady carbonation visible. Good looking thick lacing left.
S: Toasty bread maltiness. Slight caramel sweetness. NondeScript hops.
T: Earthy hop bite up first. Very English flavor. Toasted white or maybe sourdough bread later. Little sweetness.
M: Lively mouthfeel although doesnt look it. A little resin at the medium length finish.
O: Finally got around to reviewing this old friend. Nothing to complain about with this beer but I no longer find myself interested in it or the style. Still a good and worthwhile brew.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not a style I reach for often. Or really at all. But I got handed one last night at dinner, and it wasn’t too bad. Really clean; sweeter than most lagers, but in a good way, like fresh grain rather than artificial sweetener. A beer to remind us beer snobs that sometimes we should just drink a lager that you can buy at the gas station.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured into heavy glass mug. Nice copper color with a 1" inch head that dissipated after a couple of minutes with adequate lacing. Sweet Aroma with a touch of floral and honey. First sip, uneventful with a balanced sweetness and a slightly "ale-like, twang’ fade. Overall, pleasant but not "rock your world" great. For a commercially available beer, better than most, but not as "old world great" as the hype would lead you to believe. Some local breweries could blow this out of the water with character, but unfair to compare a "shelfed" beer to a "craft" in my opinion. Overall...better than most available beers that will cater to your "craft-beer" taste buds, but not in a class with other less-available greats.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour into Shaker glass. Aroma is mild--cardboard, caramel, roasted maltiness. Appearance is beautiful, clear copper with nice sparkle, finger width white foamy head and nice lacing. Taste is moderately sweet roast, caramel, cereal, nuts. Palate is medium bodied with moderately thick texture, average to lively carbonation and nice long finish. Overall, a classic in the pantheon of beers but one that has been surpassed.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good beer from a macro Brewer. Nose is stringent, moudly vegetables and more like a Kellerbier. Taste is deeply malty but a heavy scattering of hops keep things largely balanced. It all tastes a little heavy handed: too malty and too hoppy. But the aftertaste is good and rich. Just not as complex or interesting as other crafts, but considering the brewery: major props for creating a real beer!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear gold with a white head. Nose is a nice hop bouquet and a touch of sweetness. European hops dominate over a somewhat bready malt. finish is a little bitter and decent for the style. About as good as you can ask a super produced to be.
