Boston Lager is one of my least favorite Sam Adams brews, and I’m not sure if it’s because I know how much variety they have elsewhere or if I just don’t like it that much, but it’s one I typically pass up on a menu unless there’s nothing else worth drinking.

Sharzie from Rory. This was a surprise. Mellow malty complex with lovely noble hops coming through the finish. A distinctive beer style that I’ve not tasted before.

(12oz bottle, North Carolina) appearance: medium Amber (reddish brown), simple head that dissociates pretty quick, some lacing. Nose: warm, malty, grain, touch of herbs and citrus/orange. Taste: front end is simple malt/beer flavor, followed by some body, fermented corn/grain, fare amount of acidity. Palate: bitter follow thru with hops remaining on the inside of cheeks, oily/clingy, tartness.
Overall: relatively flavorful and complicated lager with good body and bitterness. A solid beer.

I’m getting drunk on a plane. Seven hundred pennies seems a lot to pay for this beer.
