Good crisp taste with a bold hoppy tone. Nice beer to break someone of the old MGD/Bud/Coors cycle.

Fresh hoppy nose. Rich copper hue with a nice large foamy head and good lacing. The taste is both hoppy and malty but slightly watery. Dry with a floral after taste.

Sam Adams Boston Lager is the beer that launched the microbrew craze. As such, it deserves credit for its groundbreaking qualities. For many years now, other companies have copied and improved upon the Sam Adams recipe, and there is now a myriad of better beers available on the market. Be it known that this was once the greatest American beer, bar none. It represents my epiphany to full-bodied lagers, and it's still a great beer for a social gathering, considering most of your guests still drink that watered-down pilsener crap.

Nice head with good lacing. Body is amber color which lends to a nice hoppy aroma. Flavour is quite malty, and a light sweet. Finish seemed a bit harsh (carbonation perhaps) and acidic. A good lager.

A solid accessible beer. Nice hop taste and it looks good in the glass. But for the price I'd rather buy something like Sierra Nevada.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2009 Better than some, not as good as others. Pretty much average, though fairly drinkable, and always easy to get ahold of.

Drank from the bottle. More hops than a typical US lager. A good first step on the way to drinking really good beers.

I didn't get the sweetness that the description talks about. I taste hops with a slight bitter finish. Not bad but not my favourite.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2003 a nice beer but nothing extraordinary. this beer offers some interesting points to me because it is somewhere between pisswaters and , i guess you can call em, real beers. its like a good handjob; it's better than your hand, but it leaves you craving the real thing. i like it though. a step in the right direction.
rerate: this is much better on draft. much more stout and tastes more like a real beer. had to give her a few more points

Very good beer. Where I used to live there was a bar down the street that had this on tap and wednesday night was $1.00 microbrew night. What a good deal. This is pretty much a basic beer but it's just good. Good beer that's contract brewed. I know Stroh's was brewing it for a while.
