COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

Bottle pour into Shaker glass. Aroma is mild--cardboard, caramel, roasted maltiness. Appearance is beautiful, clear copper with nice sparkle, finger width white foamy head and nice lacing. Taste is moderately sweet roast, caramel, cereal, nuts. Palate is medium bodied with moderately thick texture, average to lively carbonation and nice long finish. Overall, a classic in the pantheon of beers but one that has been surpassed.

Good beer from a macro Brewer. Nose is stringent, moudly vegetables and more like a Kellerbier. Taste is deeply malty but a heavy scattering of hops keep things largely balanced. It all tastes a little heavy handed: too malty and too hoppy. But the aftertaste is good and rich. Just not as complex or interesting as other crafts, but considering the brewery: major props for creating a real beer!

Pours clear gold with a white head. Nose is a nice hop bouquet and a touch of sweetness. European hops dominate over a somewhat bready malt. finish is a little bitter and decent for the style. About as good as you can ask a super produced to be.

Bottle. Pours amber with a large frothy head. Aroma is light malts with some sweetness but nothing great going on. Flavour is similar with the malts coming through. Not a big fan of lagers but I would say this was one of the better ones for me.

First Sam Adams for a coupla years... L: pours a strong amber, a lovely finger of white foam, great lacing. S: very malty and sweet on the nose, a little citrus. T: full-flavoured, very malty taste, like a malted biscuit, there’s a sweet middle, hints of fruitiness, and some light bitterness at the end. F: very creamy feel, small gentle carbonation, smooth drinking. O: great lager. I need to pick some up more often.

Sample on tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam. Body is clear golden, head is big, creamy, cream white, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is fruity, flavor is malty, floral, tropical fruits. Medium sweet, light bitter, slightly sour. Finish is medium lasting hoppy medium bittersweet. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation. Easy, refreshing, tasty lager.

Really liked this one. From the copper color to the malty taste, with dry hoppy finish.

I know, Jim Koch, I KNOW! Boston Beer Company has been tremendously successful. You have introduced huge numbers of people to the idea of beers other than pale lager. You’ve even made some quite decent beers along the way before slacking off. You’ve made your point. I’ll review your sweet smelling, bland looking, bland tasting, thoroughly mediocre flagship beer that you insist on cramming into every Samuel Adams variety 12 pack. Now will you please fucking LEAVE? [from a 12 ounce bottle on December 23, 2015 at Longhorn Steakhouse on Harrison Avenue, a place with a lousy beer selection]

Butelka 330ml. Bursztynowy kolor. Piana biala dosc obfita. W zapachu dominuja chmiele. Ich mieszanka ma tez duzy wplyw na smak. Goryczkowy z orzechowa nuta i chmielowym finiszem . Dobre piwo
