COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

Although it’s considered a lager, the color and hoppiness would make me want to call this an Ale. It’s certainly a good "next step" into exploring more advanced beers. It’s quite complex for an American Lager.

Copenhagen 18/11 2014. 35,5 cl bottle from FaktaQuick. Pours clear gold with persistent white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy. Discrete perfumed and fruity. Medium strong carbonation. Nice bitter and fruity taste with a little sweetness for balance. Quite nice beer.

I has a decent head, soapy white lacing, the aroma is mild malt and honey. The taste isn’t great, fairly bitter that isn’t balanced out but still easy, sweet tasting beer.

Clear copper-golden pour with a dull, pale white head. Bitter, sour, and powdery on the nose. Soft mouthfeel with average carbination. Toasted malt and a soured flavor with a bittering hop profile.

Bottle brewed in UK, at home. Clear golden with creamy off white head. Light citrus, sweet malts, honey, light spices, herbal hops and light fresh-cut cardboard finish. Medium bodied with light dry finish. Very drinkable beer.

Koppar/guld färgad klar öl. Doft och smak: malt, bröd, lite jäst, karamell. En god lager men personligen tycker jag att den blir lite söt i eftersmaken. Men helt klart en bra lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wonderful lager. Very drinkable beer and one of my favorite go to beers on tap. Can’t go wrong with a Boston lager anytime of day.

My go to "airport bar beer"- much more body and character than what I generally get in a lager. Easy to drink and tasty. Hits the spot during the inevitable flight delays :-)

An amber unfiltered lager with high white head. Aroma is bisquit, malty, yeasty. Taste is bitter and light sweet.
