Not as drinkable as their Boston Ale. Sits heavy in your stomach. By the time you finish 2, you’ve had enough

what happend to this beer recently tried this where did jims beautiful hop aroma go where is the maltiness go that i liked. this beer is darker than it used to be and lacks any discernable charachter that it used to have. the commercial description should be redone. side by side tasting with the stock ale reveals that they must be the same beers diffrent labels.

First time rating this....hmmmm...I got it for free at the bowling alley, where I had the three kids all by my myself, trying to get them to bowl. The bartender thought I needed it! A passable lager, fairly clean atthe finish and when warm. Fair lager malty nose.

Nice for a lager. Good all around beer to get nice and toasty with on cold nights with a lot of friends. Not very skunky. has a good finish

I'm not sure if my mouth has changed or if the beer has. Seems to me 10 yrs ago when this wasn't quite the juggernaut it is today, it was a quality almost-mega-brew. Of late, however, it has become reliably bitter and tinny, to my disappointment. There are still sweet undertones in the body, but the aftertaste has become impalatably bitter. Tis a shame as I'm worried the Winter Lager is following the mainline lager's lead.

I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at how full of flavour this is - a range of fruits cut through with a decent balance of bitterness and malty sweetness. There's enough going on to keep one interested to the end and then wanting some more to find out what other flavours can come through. A bit of tangerine marmalade and a hint of stawberries were among the flavours. The finish is long and complex and ends with a very dry bitterness that seems to go on for ever. [3.1]
Bottle. Head to Head with Brooklyn Lager. Amber with faint foam edge. Malty with sour fruit note. Some bitterness. Amber fog. Aroma of cardboard and old beer. Stale hops soon intrude heavily, spoiling this completely. Flavours muddy and not defined. [1.8]

Part of a local tastting of a Sam Adams Brewmaster Mix Pack. Decent. Amber with white head. Floral, hops, malt nose. Light bodied. Flavor was clean and crisp and somewhat refreshing. Good Lawnmower beer.

Boring yet not gross. Part of me would take a PBR any day to this stuff but if you have been handed one you can’t really object. Mostly malt with some fruit or other "outside" favors detectable. Would never purchase of my own accord.
