COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

I can’t say enough good things about this award winning brew. it’s a wonderful session brew and I love to enjoy it when I really want to experience "World Class Beer". Pours beautifully in a mug with a strong head and heavenly aromas of malt and biscuit. It has a thick mouth feel that is very serious "REAL BEER". I think of this brew as the Flagship of American Beer for all of those people who think Budweiser Water is the king. Grab on to one now and experience Real Brewing Craft. It won’t let you down!!

A fine, fine beer: lovely amber color. A medley of warm, earthy flavours: the alkalinity of dark-roasted coffee, sticky honey, and of course a lot of rich hoppiness. Good beer... but if it’s your first pint of Sam Adams, take it slow. Get a whiff, take a little sip, or you’ll shock a palate that’s used to regular light-golden lagers.

Bottle. This is one of my favorite beers I've had so far. At first it seemed sour, but after my second bottle I developed a taste for the hoppy flavor. There is a subtle but engaging nuance of citrus in the lager that I love. If you are new to beer, this is a good stepping stone from the macros to smaller, craft brews.

If you should ever find yourself in Boston, go to the nearest bar and order a Sam Adams on tap. You might have had a bottle or two of Sam in your life, and thought it was about the same as a Yuengling, or one of a million other American Lagers. But have one on tap and fresh, and you know much better.

I agree with KennyKonif...This beer is surprising. I’m leaving in Canada and the first time I went to the USA (In akswesesne mohawk casino), I decided to try a US beer...and Samuel Adams was the beer I tried...I’m not disapointed. This beer has a perfect flavor and a great palate. This beer has a sap flavor...thats bizarre since my friends doesn’t seem to agree on this one. On my next trip to USA I will try other product from this brewery.

Yeah, this and Yuengling are pretty close to the best American beers. Think Sam has a slight edge though. Very good taste, I like this stuff

The best lager that is readily available to the masses. Too good for BBQ's and parties, but I recommend keeping some around if you wanna impress your friends.
