Bottle: Orange with dnese head...good lacing. Hoppy floral aroma with notes of pine. Sweet malt and caramel flavours. Medium-bodied with a nice bitter finish.

Aug 8, 2008 I love the amber color,the sweet spicy aroma and taste, I love the way this feels in my mouth and I love the hoppy finish. I try to keep some of this on hand at all times, sort of my workhorse brew.

Aug 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Ahhh - the first craft beer I ever had, back in 1992. Before that, it was a unending stream of Coors Light, Michelob, Natural Light, an occasional Heineken, and many fifths of Jack Daniel’s. The first time I had a "Sammy A" (our way of distinguishing it from Samuel Smith’s beers back in the day) I couldn’t believe the amount of flavor. I was used to water-like beers and soon found out there was no turning back. I still love this beer, with its great malt/hop balance, golden-brown color, medium white head, and light finish. One of the few lagers out there that I will regularly order.
