3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft. I have to render unto this beer its props for being, usually, the best choice you have available in most restaurant bars <i color=CC0011>(and a fine Chicago pizza scarfin' establishment like Giordano's should know better than to use iced-over glasses). Has a nice dark gold color, darker than any megabrew, under the usual lager head. The malt is very evident, almost but not quite a caramel aspect, again better than megabrewed "barley pop." Hop flavor is nicely balanced, bitterness doesn't really assert itself until after you swallow. Many beer fans have kind of a love-hate relationship with Jim Koch, but this is still the beer that makes his rep.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Golden brown color with a white head. Not a bad beer. Most restaurants that have a terrible beer selection at least have this. light hop flavor with a good malt character.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
one of my favourites at the moment, and a good example of the american craft beers that are becoming so popular over in the uk. it has a dry , mildly hoppy taste to it,, it has a slightly citrus aroma, is pale in colour and has a minimal head, it has a lively palate. i never tend to have just one !

Bottle 330ml. Clear light golden-copper with small white head. Sweetish fruity aroma, syrup, notes of honey. The flavor is as the nose, light hoppy bitterness, a bit sour. Dry and clean. Light carbonation. Light body. Sweetish bitter aftertaste.
